Yo quiero Ristras!

Since I’m on a food roll here, I want to post more food photos– this time taken in Manila at this nice little joint called Ristras, owned by Chef Robbie of Cyma fame.

We were taken to Ristras by the wonderful owners of The Learning Connection, Jules and Hazel. They spoke highly of this restaurant and wanted us to try.

I love Mexican food– sans the beans (which is actually pretty much on everything haha. I can take a few, just not too much). Bear with me in identifying these photos because all I remember really was devouring everything 😉

I believe this was the burrito order, which was good for more than one person (and is really filling!!)

I don’t remember this dish, but it’s sooooo gooood!!! Someone please help me identify this dish!

Soft and hard shell tacos with a virgin strawberry margarita (it was too early in the morning to be drinking alcohol- laced juice :D)

I plan to take DH here again (so I can pig out without having to worry about being judged… haha coz he already knows I am really a pig 😉

Ristras Mexican Grill— from Wilson Street, turn right on the street where Alex III is located. Keep going straight for about a block, and you’ll see Ristras on the right 🙂

P.S. Promise to answer all comments within the week. I’ve had this NASTY post nasal drip and it’s killing my throat (and somehow giving me watery eyes as well) . But I’ll be back in circulation soon I hope!!

  1. Wow, I can’t wait to try Ristras more than ever! I love Cyma and Charlie’s, so I have high expectations of this one.

Will definitely try this out once I get a weekend free!

  2. love it here! ate here. love it more cause its so near my house. their quesadila (hope I got that right) is huge!

  3. Thanks Mrs T for sharing this! I just recently went on a trip to Mexico and have since been craving that real Mexican flavor.

  4. Hi Mrs T. I am a doctor and I can’t help but ask if you are taking any medication for your allergies? I have allergic rhinitis that triggers my asthma so I had to see a pulmonologist-friend who prescribed the right combination of meds – Aleva 10 mg ( antihistamine ), Montelukast ( leukotriene antagonist) and Avamys nasal spray-this combo worked for me. Just thought of sharing my remedy because I know how it feels like to have bad allergies. You might want to see a pulmonologist ( that is if you haven’t already ). Hope you don’t mind the unsolicited doctor’s advice. Thanks.

  5. @ Dea: I think you’ll really enjoy Ristras. It’s yummy!

@Anon: Oh yes they do look mighty good! And they do taste good too!

@Mrsmartinez: Those burritos were huge, weren’t they? Did you manage to finish it all?

@PBB: lucky you live so close by!!!

    @ Tita: You’re welcome 🙂

@Kidee: trying to find out where that cheesesteak joint, charlie’s, is.

@ The Miata Mommy: Go try it and let me know how you like/ not like it 😀

@ Anon: Thanks so much! I’m using aleve now. Montelukast is singulair, right? 🙂 I also even have the purple puffer if i get those attacks. Is it allergy season now? 🙁

  6. hi! For my first visit, I shared it with my food trip buddy, AC. The second visit, I shared the burritos with my DH. I am stuffed after that. haha Make sure to try the taho and soya that the store beside ristras is selling. And also Serendipitea for nai cha. Both stores are equally good yum!

  7. You are very much welcome Mrs T. Montelukast comes in different brands: Singulair, Kastair, Montair, Montget, Montemax ( prices vary, singulair being the most expensive, either brand will do ). These meds are often taken in a span of weeks to months depending on your doctor’s assessment. Yes allergy season is definitely here. I am taking my medications religiously also as I can feel my asthmatic cough recurring.Happy blogging! Take care
