Warning about CROCS (public service warning)

Yes, I am a CROCS fan– yup, I dig those pretty ugly clogs *but they are so comfy!!* My kiddies are fans too. But here’s a terrifying true story that happened to my friend DaphnePaez’s daughter Sophia very recently. Her Crocs got mangled up by the escalator at Rustan’s. Read her story here.

Don’t let that incident stop you from buying Crocs, but NEVER, NEVER, EVER wear them to places where you will encounter having to ride escalators (or where you will be near any kind of machinery for that matter– better safe than sorry) NEVER. Especially when it comes to having your children wear them. There have been stories where toes have been “eaten” by escalators as a result of such mishaps that involve these Crocs (and also Havaianas). Take extra note of that!!

Bottom line here is, stay away from the side railings of the escalators too, and as much as possible, DO NOT wear any rubber soled slippers that could get eaten up by escalators. It’s truly going to be a horrifying ordeal and if you can prevent it, prevent it.

Best is still this– wear your Crocs at home or at the Park, or in Church. But NOT at the Mall.

Bag review tomorrow. Early night for this baghag.

xx

  1. The photo of that mangled Croc is enough to send shivers up the spine of any parent. What a miracle that Sophia’s feet were unscathed! My 3-year-old daughter has been begging for Crocs, and I thought I’d put it off till next year, when her feet are bigger. Now am having second thoughts about getting them at all, since we can hardly avoid escalators.

  2. I’m interested to read the rest of the story of the crocs incident but when i click on the blog only a portion of it comes out. Can you post the rest of the incident please 😉
    Thank you
