Vintage Looking or Vintage + Vintage Restore

While it’s a novel idea to use vintage bags daily, I wouldn’t wanna do that because I like to keep the original state of vintage bags in that they still retain some kind of “old newness” (you know, not vintage “abused”). So the next best thing is to use a vintage- looking bag 🙂

Visual merchandiser and stylist Sid toted this vintage- looking Paul Smith bag which I seriously fell in love with. Sid also tells me that these Paul Smith bags are currently on sale. I’d love to go there and get one, but after the 2 confessions in my last post, I don’t think my wallet can support another designer bag *sob sob*.

Speaking of vintage, I was actually pleasantly surprised with a recent find (recent is 5 minutes ago!). Our new neighbor, Vintage Restore (appropriately named too!) has vintage- looking bags too, and the bag prices are guaranteed not to break your bank 🙂

Vintage Restore, as I’ve mentioned in my last post, repairs all designer bags (linings, zippers, replating hardware). In fact, I saw a client bring in an old Chanel tote with a torn rolled handle for repair (Saves that client the trouble of brining the bag all the way to HK!). Anyway it was only today that I got to browse around their collection (designed by LallyDizon).

I am liking the vintaged leather belted tote with brighton blue snakeskin trims. (I love belted bags!)Priced at Php 7,995. I’m tellin’ ya, not bad for the price eh? It’s snake skin!! Heck, snakeskin bags are so expensive in the US– think VBH.

I couldn’t resist when I saw the chained clutches. I bought myself that icy blue metallic clutch with blue snake skin detail (woohoo my exotic fix is met !) for Php 3,550 (that’s just one meal for me, so it’s worth a sacrifice haha– a bag vs.a meal–definitely a BAG! *an exotic one to boot!*).

There are also fun vintage-y leather bags with zebra-ish striped detail for those who want quirkier pieces. They mix the old look with the new. And it’s done real nicely too! The piece on the left is priced at Php 4,595.

Vintage Restore has also been one of the suppliers of a famous bag maker in New York, as I heard from the little talk around the building (haha this store was the talk of our little community because we were finally gonna have a bag restoration store– everyone in the bldg has had bag accidents, and those bags need to be in bag ER! And these ladies are the bag doctors!). Of course when I asked the ladies about their connection with the NY designer, they all just smiled 🙂 So modest, these girls! *I’d be bragging about it left and right if I were them haha… that’s probably why they have a lot of friends, coz modesty and humility go a long way 🙂 Hehe oh-tayy Mrs.T needs to eat her humble pie now*

Anyway for more information, Vintage Restore is located at the 2nd floor of Doña Consolacion Bldg, 122 Jupiter St Makati City. Oh and did I mention that you can also go there and design your own bag? 🙂 My suggestion? A vintage-y looking bag with some snake skin detail please 🙂

Have a good night hags!!
