Valentine’s Day gift ideas for recession- hit lovers :)

It’s back to reality for Mrs. T 🙂 And that means, it’s back to work, work, work! And woohoo Valentine’s Day is already coming! No, let’s not think of Valentine’s Day as another marketing gimmick of Hallmark *DH said that, by the way hahaha… he’s a Heart’s Day Scrooge hahahaha tsk! No date for Valentine’s for this bag hag because the MIL decided to throw a whole shebang party to celebrate my FIL’s birthday that day. Waaaaaaaa!*

Anyway, I may not have my Valentine’s Day date, but that doesn’t mean we don’t celebrate it another time (hahahaha DH will have to pay for agreeing to postpone our date in lieu of his parents’ event muwahahaha)! There is always something for guys and gals out there who were hit by recession this coming February 14 (which also falls on Chinese New Year!!). But oye, just because you were hit by recession, doesn’t mean you don’t celebrate Valentines’ Day too 🙂 So here goes.

I was never good with perfumes. Hardly had luck finding the right one that I could actually enjoy for a long time (I have to make sure the perfumes I get are ones that I will finish– or they’ll turn into plain old alcohol after awhile). The only two bottles I actually love are  Hermes‘ Un Jardin Sur Le Nil and L’Artisan’s Tea for Two. I still love those 2 scents to bits.

Anyway, last Christmas, I didn’t know what to get my Mom. She seems to have everything that she wants (or if she wants something, she won’t tell me until she already has it). I love my DM to bits. She’s my best friend. So over the holidays, I saw the prettiest not-too-little perfume bottle.  And I KNOW she didn’t have that yet.

And then I smelled the perfume. It was a winner. I bought DM a bottle of LOLA by Marc Jacobs.

The bottle is realllly cute. So much so that I ended up getting myself one too *hahahaha bad!*. The concept behind this bottle? Marc Jacobs designed it as an “electrifying, over-the-top bouquet exploding from the bottle”. And then of course, the violet glass bottle “that expresses the sensuality of the fragrance”. And the golden collar? It’s “wrapped with a gold coil creating a luxurious finishing touch.” *I love it when these companies wax poetic over their fragrances!*
Incidentally, Marc Jacobs also has this other perfume called Daisy (reminds me of Daphne’s daughter :D). And after Daisy, comes the Silver edition Daisy 😀
This Daisy Silver edition is just like the original Daisy design. Designed by Wilhelm Liden (Coty Prestige Creative Team), the bottle has that additional touch of luxe brought the cool metallic finish. And what of the top? It “blooms with an artful scattering of metallic gold daisies with silver accents”.
So boys (pay attention!!), if you still don’t know what to get your lady love this Valentine’s Day, the perfumes above are hearts’ day gift ideas. You don’t need to have a big bag budget to get your gals these perfumes 🙂

Now for the girls, here’s a gift idea for your men if you don’t have the budget to buy them a nice designer wallet 🙂 *I will pay attention here because my own financial well is dry hahaha*  I have always loved Calvin Klein’s Eternity on Men. I know it’s so 90s but that’s one of the best scents for men I’ve ever smelled 😀
Then Calvin Klein came outwith a men’s perfume called Free.

The perfume is inspired by “the spirit of the modern, independent man who lives everyday to the fullest. He has nothing to prove. He’s cool, relaxed, and free- spirited.” Hence the name, FREE 🙂 I actually like this scent as well– is unexpectedly fresh and quite masculine *woohoo!!*.
So girls, this is something worth considering. The 100ml price is Php 4,298. And the smallest size, 30m is only at Php 1,998! Not bad, right girls? Hehehehe 😀 *gift idea alert for DH :D*
All these fragrances are distributed by Lux Asia and are available at authorized distributors and department stores nationwide 😉
Sorrrry, also just a quick plug here *sheepish grin*– you can also find cool Valentine’s goodies at Accessory Lab (www.accessorylab.com) *bling, bags, and rocks* 😉
So go buy a bottle of one of those nice perfumes by Lux Asia, and compliment it with some affordable bling from Accessory Lab 😀

  1. I’ve never had a Marc Jacobs perfume before, but I agree that the bottles are so cute! I may have to get myself some soon.

  2. I prefer the regular Daisy over the silver edition. The bottles are very nice and collectible too!

  3. That bracelet in your left part of the blog would be nice as a Valentines’ Day present 🙂 Is that the same designer as Ellen Barkin’s jewels that she sold?
