Travelog: The Taj Mahal

Another crazy 6 hours on the not-as-bumpy road in our bus brought us from Jaipur to Agra. Thank heavens for the better roads. I was beginning to think that my whole internal organ system got jumbled up inside because of the bumps! Oh and I sat all the way in the back of the bus, which of course magnified each bump and made it so much worse for my already- flat bootie!
But when we got there, all those bumpy roads that led to the Taj were suddenly forgotten. We went through this entrance
to be greeted by THIS:
Surreal. I can’t believe I am actually back here for a 2nd time. The first time I visited Taj, I was with my parents. That was about 15 years ago.
My father has since passed away, so this place really brought back memories of him. It made me smile when I remembered what he had been saying to me while we were walking around the Taj– I was forced to walk barefoot then while he had his socks on hahaha. I shall never forget those moments…
It’s real nice to be able to come back here. There were brief moments of rain and we ended up running all the way to the Taj!
Daphne does color blocking sooo well!
A sea of orange in seamless marbles of white
On the way out, a woman in blue and green
Pretty incredible to have been able to enjoy what Mughal emperor Shah Jahan had created for his wife Mumtaz in her memory, after her death while giving birth to their fourteenth *whoaaaw* child.
Alrighty peeps, this lady *points to self* needs sleep. I barely got any zzzs earlier because we went to  the Taj Mahal by 6am– and I went to bed at around 4am that same day *eeps*. And oh I didn’t sleep on the bus either– I nearly got thrown out of my seat because of road turbulence 🙂
