TRAVELOG: Sacre Coeur, Montmartre, Taillevent

Your baghag blogger, being the ignorant lady from Manille, asked Ewan (our alternate chauffeur who was equally nice like Laurent) to see Moulin Rouge. After all, I felt I should actually be seeing the place in the flesh even though we’ve already done one show at Lido (which is supposed to be THE show for the tourists 😀 hehehe).

Here was Moulin Rouge. The windmill and all. But no, we didn’t watch another show there anymore. Didn’t even bother to take a photo in front of it anymore for posterity. (Didn’t wanna look too touristy hahaha… right)

We headed to Sacre Coeur and Montmartre afterwards. There was a film crew doing a music video. Who was the star of that video? It was the French version of “Idol” winner, Sheryfa Luna. She was there to film her music video and was kind enough to sign autographs. I was tempted to join the crowd but then I was going to end up looking like the grandma among those youngsters lining up for autographs. Nah I decided to save face and just stayed on the sidelines, took photos 😀

Then she was prepped, and she started “lipsynching” to her song which was played out loud. I was practically sorta next to her when the shot was taken. She was purdy 🙂 Interesting production, this video.

We walked away from Sacre Coeur– went to the back where all the artists were. This was a famous spot, where they would do portraits of you as you wait. And there’s a lot of talented artists there from what I knew. But first, a quick stop for crepe 😉

What’s a Parisian vacation without having crepe? Tsk 🙂 Beurre et sucre, s’il vous plait! (Butter and sugar crepe please)

Rats, I was still hungry. I contemplated on a baguette with some meat and veggies on it…
But thankfully, we reached the “artists” area (Place du Tertre), and while I espied a painting that I would’ve loved to buy (except that it was EUR 150!!!), my famille decided it was time for lunch. WOoHoO Saved from spending my last few cents!!

We settled on La Cremaillere, right on the square. The crustaceans were what lured us in, to be honest. My siblings and I were on this musselfest. And this was a restaurant that served ’em fresh!!

We all ordered the Moules avec Pommes Frittes (Mussels served with a side of French Fries!). How exotic was that 😀

Apres lunch, we walked around some more, before heading back to our hotel to get ready for dinner. Dinner was at Taillevent, the 2- star Michelin restaurant *the highlight of my gastronomic life!*. I will talk about Taillevent soon– as soon as I get to write an article about it (speaking of which, I’d better start already for that.. I have 3 articles due in a week and I haven’t even done any 🙁 Procrastinating!!)

Anyway, before I completely abandon Travelog: Paris for Travelog: Rome, here are some more shots from Rue du Faubourg, St. Honore.

Goyard
There’s that expensivo “limited edition” box clutch which I personally don’t like and can’t understand why it would cost US$4k for one…

And they’re opening another boutique across the street!
And then there’s the joaillerie shop of JAR. It was closed ’til the start of Spring! *Major pout* And what was there for anyone to see? Just one teeeeny tiny vitrine– and it was empty 🙁 *sob* Oh well! I was told that there wasn’t anything for them to show you anyway if you are not anyone he knows. And he doesn’t just meet up with anyone too. So there. My eyes just went swimming at Buccellati, Chanel Haute Joaillerie, Cartier, and Bvlgari afterwards, as well as these other lovely joaillerie boutiques which sold all sorts of antique jewelry!Gosh, there is really nothing that would keep you unhappy in Paris, *except the lack of spending power haha* Luxury is abundant in Paris!!!

Then we went to Laduree near the Eglise de la Madeleine. Remember when I said I saw Dita Von Teese? That’s HER (in black) getting into her Mercedes. And that’s the young chauffeur who was grinning as he was heading to his seat 🙂 *boy he looked REAL happy to be driving for her hehe… Heck I would too! She’s gorgeous!*

Tomorrow, I shall post something about the car culture in Paris 🙂 For now, I am off to watch a video with DH, who has been egging me to write my articles AND watch a video with him. Being the ultimate procrastinator that I am, I abandoned the former and am going with the latter option. Watching a vid 🙂

Hope you are all having a nice time wherever you are… Long weekend= vacationnnnn!!!!
