TRAVELOG: Paris CARS

I was so baffled and amused at the same time at the cars situation in Paris. We noticed rows and rows of cars with very scratched up bumpers. We couldn’t contain our laughter when we see cars like that because unlike Parisians, most Filipinos like us obsess about the physical welfare of our cars. Which is why you have these real souped up cars roaring by in the streets of Manila. Face it, most of us love our cars that much to get them primped up. That’s the very reason why car shops (that beautify and soup up cars) exist!

And then to travel to a country where you see cars like this…
*SOB* It’s a Beautiful Benz too… A car that this baghag could only dream of driving one day when she grow white hair and her teeth all fall off… *Muwahahaha coz now, this bag hag can’t even find moolah to pay for a new battery for her lovingly old jalopy 😀 *

Check out the lower bumpers and sides of the car of the left!

We saw most cars have some kind of scratch on their bumper, it was actually sad!! My DBs and I even thought about putting up a bumper- replacement business in Paris– boy that would make us billionaires, but then again, as it is, I don’t think the drivers and car owners really care that much about them bumpers anymore … Hmm what do you gals and guys think??

And then we saw this poor Smart car, his front bumper is kissing the back bumper of another car (the black). And when we got to the back of this Smart car, this was what we saw, and we all broke out in laughter *yeah, like that makes us good people, laughing at other people’s misery hahaha… Ok we thought it was CUTE, ok? Although I know if it happened to MY car, I wouldn’t think it’s cute anymore haha*
Ok so how the heck is this little car going to get out?????? Someone? Anyone?? Oye!!

Does the owner of this car have to wait for the cars in front to get out? As it turned out too, the car in front of the Smart car also had its bumper closely touching the car in front of him! It was really funny!!! I wonder how the other cars even managed to squeeze into their uber tight parking spots!

And here was another funny incident– while DSIL and I were walking out of the Four Seasons Hotel at George V, there was this moving van parked along the side, unloading cargo. Behind this car is a small parking spot. You get to this parking spot immediately after you turn right into this street, so it’s really a no-brainer to park. No need to keep making these extra reverse and forward moves. So we saw this car out of the corner of our eye, moving to turn into this parking slot. We waited patiently for this car to make the turn before we crossed the street. The car turns. Then BAM! Hits the back of the moving van!!! Literally crashed into it!

Here’s what’s funny. They all acted like NOTHING happened!! So DSIL and I burst out in laughter. It was the most hilarious scene we’ve even been “privy” to! Still cannot imagine how the people give little importance to their cars in Paris! There was a small dink in the bumper of the car that hit the van, but it was like nothing happened!!!!

How’s that for Parisian nonchalance, eh? 🙂

Anyway, that’s the Car story to cap our Parisian adventure 🙂 Here’s our last look at Paris… The Arc de Triomphe from our hotel, and an Hermes boutique at Charles de Gaulle Airport 🙂

Up next, I talk about our travels to ROME!! Yes, we went there after Paris 🙂 🙂

P.S. For those who’ve been asking which travel agency we used throughout our trip, we went with CV Travel. CV Travel is owned by ClaudetteV, who has been instrumental in ensuring that our trip was successful. Incidentally, she was also the one who mapped out our Egyptian adventure 2 years ago. So if you want a very personalized service which entails private tours to the “other world” other than our own beautiful country, get in touch with her because she is already tried and tested. I highly recommend her! She can tailor make tours for you like she did with us 🙂 CV Travel is at 3/F Cynros Bldg 513 Alonzo St. Malate Manila. Tel. (632) 523-0043. Check out www.cvtravel.com.ph

  1. the little car will get out when the driver “pushes” both front and back cars in order for him/her to have enough space to get out himself. that’s the way pretty much all over europe they say. witnessed the same thing in germany and denmark myself, but i never paid enough attention to it in paris.

  2. hi, miss your blogs, so glad that you are back in form 🙂 will your old format for the tresormakati come back or will it just be at the multiply site? i’m not so adept at multiply and i am too lazy to learn new tricks, hehehehehe

  3. Hi Mrs.T ! I read your article for Inquirer newspaper. I liked it and am so shocked so many people go in debt for bags??!!?? To borrow money for it is crazy and simply irresponsible. Thank you for shedding light on to the subject matter of designer bag and the addiction.
