Travelog: More Montecatini, the “Spa” Town

After arriving Milan yesterday, we were picked up by our private driver provided by CV Travel and were driven to Montecatini. It took us approximately 4 hours to get to Montecatini, a small “spa” town with a very relaxed atmosphere. We were booked at  Grand Hotel and La Pace, a HUGE hotel which reminded us of Villa Serbeloni back in Bellagio, Como.

hotel was built in the 1800s– 1870 if I remember correctly

The rooms we got were all of different size– my brother got the biggest one of all, with a living room which adjoins the bedroom. Ours was large too, but without the accompanying living room. We all had high ceilings 🙂 I like!

Our room had a balcony with this view:

The hotel property has a pool too
We’re on the top floor 🙂

After we settled into our respective rooms, we went out to the town center to acquaint ourselves with what’s available 🙂
Wheee my first vacation shot 😀

What the town looks like:

And what’s available in the stores? 🙂

I like the necklace!

What’s Italy without a little food shopping, yeah?

Even the Pope loves Prada! I like this tote a lot because of the print!

Laser cut detail on the boots– everyone’s crazy for knee high boots, thanks to Kate Middleton

Dolce & Gabbana!

This would make a funky weekend market tote 🙂

The other thing I noticed in Montecatini– there are a lot of shops that catered to children’s clothing, but I hardly saw kids the time we were walking around.

Stopped by to buy these to snack on 🙂

Uric acid attack! hehehe

And our dinner is definitely worth writing home about 🙂 Watch out for the first food post for this trip 🙂 Also do follow me on twitter.com/thebaghag for up-to-the-minute/ hour updates 🙂
