Travelog: Inveraray Castle, Scotland

Here’s a pretty quick post for you all – because I refuse (ok I am too cheap) to pay for Internet service in our current hotel in Glasgow, Scotland.

Anyway this afternoon we went to Inveraray Castle, the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll and his family.

When we got to the castle, we found out that the current Duke and his family are at the castle- they are probably staying there for the Easter holiday with their 3 children. And it so happened that their eldest son and the Marquess of Lorne, Archie– who will become the Duke of Argyll one day, was wandering around and we had caught up with him at the gift shop.
So I asked him to sign the book I had bought about Inveraray Castle. The book was also previously signed by the Duke of Argyll himself so I thought it’d be cute to get his autograph as well– I mean hey, this is the future Duke 🙂 He tells me that he doesn’t have to sign anything (protocol perhaps? they teach them very early on, don’t they?), but would gladly doodle on the book. So I let him doodle on the cover, and he managed a cute smiley next to his father’s signature. Little Archie is 8 years old and is already showing signs of authority 🙂 He’s really quite an endearing little chap and a cheeky one 🙂
That’s all my Scottish adventures for now. Getting ready now to head to Edinburgh. Hopefully our next hotel has internet 🙂
