Travelog: Great Mall of the Bay Area

Yesterday, I was officially rejuvenated, after having had over 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep the night before. So we all decided to drive over to Milpitas– to the Great Mall of the Bay Area. I love a good bargain, and every so often, I’d find something really good at the Great Mall– at either Off Fifth or Neiman’s Last Call Center.
This trip however, was an exception. I did not find anything spectacular nor did I find anything of good value. So it was a little bit of a disappointment. However, that only means one thing, it’s good for my pocket hahaha 😉

Here are some of the things I “singled out” at either super stores.

Michael Kors. This is a pretty good price already at US$140. And the tote itself is very, very useful and light.

Leopard Prints!

Marc by Marc Jacobs. Somehow I wish this bag’s multitude of zippers had more function than the way they’re designed.

JPK totes. Featured this designer a few posts ago. I like the strength of the canvas. It’s also not one of those materials that attract dirt as fast.
JPK Expandable Tote

Ahh a Giambatista Valli dress. I am certain this is a flattering dress, but it’s not something I will pay top $$$ for. Even after price markdown. The design is too generic.

Oscar dela Renta. This is such a pretty skirt! After markdown, it’s priced at US$735.  *wolfwhistle*

Oh Oscar…

I found this bag rather funny– I can’t imagine carrying this bag hobo- style on my shoulder. I keep thinking of that spiked torture device when I see the handle of this bag 😀

Alexis Hudson. I can’t really say if I like this bag or not. Initially reminding me of a cross between a Botkier and a Tod’s bag, I can safely say that this bag does not have that same “suave” effect as a Tod’s multi- zipped bag.  (Ugh I shouldn’t have even compared it to a Tod’s bag because this bag is nowhere near a Tod’s bag! *thwaps self*)

I love these flats by Kate Spade 🙂

Kate Spade. Always fun!!

Manolos were so associated with the 90s– very SJP, very Sex and the City. But with the rise of Christian Louboutin, I think Manolos had to take a back seat. They’re still great shoes, but based on my experience, a lot of the heels on my own shoes cracked over time– perhaps also because it’s very humid in the Philippines.

Alexander McQueen. this dress looks like you have a tattoo all over your body when worn. Pretty cool actually 🙂

Oh hello, this Marc Jacobs hearts pochette is still priced high despite it being a few seasons old. Lower it some more already 😀

I saw this Stuart Weitzman clutch the last time I went to a Last Call Center.  It’s really a pretty clutch. I think it would be better without the gold hardware.

Ooh I like this Tory Burch clutch! This would look great with jeans 🙂

And then there’s Valentino.

After yesterday’s shopping expedition which yielded zero loot *yes you better believe it!!*, I can happily *and proudly* admit that my money is intact 🙂 The only things I brought back home from the Great Mall of the Bay Area are the 2 pairs of Skechers which belong to my kids! 🙂 *I have officially become a saver!!! Wooohoooo!!!!*
That’s pretty much it for now. Today I woke up a little late so we’re just about to head out. More on today’s little “expedition” tomorrow 🙂

Have a good day, everyone 🙂
