Trash Bags

What is it about “trash” bags these days that they are actually becoming en vogue?

When Louis Vuitton came out with their version of the trash bag on the runway for Spring/ Summer 2010, I couldn’t help but laugh.

Sure, it’s really kitschy, but really, can the design team behind this bag get more creative (I mean, seriously)?  😀

I actually thought this would be a bag I wouldn’t mind owning if the price is right. And I was thinking perhaps the bag would cost somewhere between US$600- US$1,000 at the most.

Tsk. Mistake yet again. Its actual retail price is about US$1,996 (thanks to Book of Joe)

I was agape with shock– why so expensivo? 🙁 *sob*

But then again, Moschino’s version of the trash bag which I posted a few days ago,

wasn’t exactly cheap either. Now, both bag are made of leather– LV‘s is a shinier one (I presume this is made of a thinner vernis leather), while Moschino’s is made of matte leather that’s treated and “crinkled” to give it that garbage bag look.

The question now is, which of the two brands used better leather? And thebaghag‘s question of the day, Which of the two would you get? *And please don’t say neither– I want you to choose! And tell me why!*

*A question now lingers in my mind: Should I have bought that Moschino Garbage Bag??? I kinda like the shape of the bag more than LV‘s version… but then you can sling the LV raindrop besace bag across your body…*

(Note to self: STOP thinking about buying a new bag. Need to let more bags go. I just bought myself 2 “heavy duty” shelves and had all my fabric bags piled up there and hooolyyyy… I filled up both shelves with them! *Shock!* And oh, these don’t count towards my ‘designer bag accumulation’ rule! *hahaha hypocrite* Ok I need to do Spring Cleaning– promise to do that when I get back from my trip.)

  3. @deluxeduck: While I would’ve wanted to buy this because it would make a perfect travel bag, I still think it’s too expensive 🙁 Cant wait to see it up close though– from there I can decide if I will get it or not.

@di: nooo way i wont post photos of those bags. It’s really embarrassing. Besides, they’re just fabric bags!! hahaha

@chloe22: Indeed. It is gorgeous. but ouch on the pocket!
