Things that I’d like to buy, but…

I still feel guilty about spending money on my stuff. (Well I couldn’t help myself with those $9.99 jeans and those Dr. Scholls. Oh and I had to buy a pair of Cole haan shoes with Nike Air gel technology because of my feet. They aren’t exactly pretty shoes, but they really helped my feet lately. Gawd they look like those orthopedic shoes… *for old women hahaha*)

Ok, I honestly didn’t feel like spending money on stuff because 1. I have no money to spend (hooo boy, that would mean I’d have to use my credit card, which I’m sjust ooo not going to do right now, especially with Christmas coming and all), and 2. I don’t really “need” what I like yet. *hehehe meaning: I don’t need a new bag coz my bag is ok, and I don’t need wellingtons because I already have an existing pair of rainboots which are still ok!)

Sooooo here are some of my to- lust-fors on this trip (so far hahaha… I haven’t done much shopping and windowshopping because of my feet and jetlag, remember?):

Lanvin bag with grosgrain detail (they’re over US$1,000!!! I just can’t justify paying this amount for this bag because it doesn’t really look so sturdy and is more of a “trendy” bag)
Burberry wellingtons

Would YOU buy them if you were me? (Don’t worry, this is an honest question– I didn’t buy these things hahaha. But ugh, those boots are haunting me– they cost about $90 though *expensivo*)

*Sigh*… Why everything has to be so expensive even with recession and this economic meltdown is really something I can’t explain. Someone with background on finance and economics, puhLeassse explain!!! 😀

  2. Hey Mrs T,

I wouldn’t buy the Lanvin bag but at $90 something dollars for the Burberry Wellingtons, I’d spring for that. The bag is too flashy for me while the Wellingtons would suit me wonderfully on my trip to rainy Vancouver this Christmas.

    Happy travels.

  3. Hahaha! I can feel your lust on that boots. I saw a Gucci rain boots the other day and I was controlling myself so hard. I didn’t buy it too but it’s haunting me as well. I was thinking that with all the rains in Manila, it could come in handy. The weight of the boots made me think otherwise. I can’t bear to have excess luggage anymore.

  4. Hi Mrs. T, I guess I need an honest opinion from you. Am planning to purchase a wallet and am eyeing LV’s multicolore insolite. But am worried because a friend advised me not to buy it because the prints fade in time. I also asked one of the shop’s assistants if it’s true and told me it won’t as long as it’s not exposed to extremely high temperatures. Now the question is, should I consider having second thoughts about the wallet or should I but it anyway? Thanks a lot.

  5. i’d keep my money for more of cheaper bags that can look similar or i’d top up a few more hundreds for other styles that i prefer. but it’s really different strokes for different folks. i’d consider black basic wellies since i don’t own any.

  6. Holy crap those wellingtons are HOT!!!

I know what you mean; I have no spending money either. Grrr. I did find a website that helps me make a little money on the side, though. I talk about it on my blog if you want to check it out.

  7. @nashe: theyre ninety dollars!! I really held back on the purchase. I already have a pair of wellies so i shouldnt be getting a second pair… Hehe but darn theyre really nice 🙁

@tom: ooh ur wellies have straps? They sound niiiice!!

@leah and maryd: i had to hold back BIG time!!

@tom tuttle: good call. Black wellies are a good choice. I dont think we should have more than a pair unless we live up north, with snow and all half the year 😉

  8. Hi, how true is it that the Burberry Wellington costs $90? where can i buy it? unfortunately it’s not available in the Philippines.
