Thebaghag’s binge on scones & sushi + BAG REVIEW TIME :-)

I woke up early this morning. Because I slept early last night *wooo lifestyle change!!*

I ran a few errands this morning and ended up hanging out with my former Metro colleague/ galpal FionaL (who is leaving us all and flying off to London *sniff* to take up shoe design– watch out ManoloB! Footwear goddess in training :D) and jeweller CandyD of Jul B. Dizon Jewellery Salon (hags, if you have money to burn, check out their jewels!!! *droooool… shucks.. I wish I had money, but the thought of just hanging out at the boutique was good enough. I don’t need to own anything there, just ogle will do, and the ever-so-kind Candy allowed me to do just that :D) at the mezzanine of The Peninsula Hotel Manila, before having high tea with SnowT.

It was a nice time to catch up, since Snow will be heading off to Paris in a few days *Mrs.T turns green with envy*. I had my usual order of scones (with cream and strawberry jam) Earl Grey Tea, while Snow had the Halo-halo. Hags, if you have not yet tried the scones of the Peninsula hotel, it’s really worth trying. I’ve been coming back for this, and their palabok (but it was too heavy a meal for me, so I picked the scones). And it never disappoints!!

BB later joins us (and I haven’t seen him in ages and I’m just soo glad he came :D), and we all headed to Kuretake *woohoo my fave fave fave!!* at Rockwell for dinner. Kuretake is also Snow’s fave fave restaurant. Now that’s really a restaurant that’s worth spending on. Food is as always, great *ugh I can have another order of spicytuna roll please? :D* The three of us hags had a great time 😀 And here’s proof that we enjoyed bag talk– woohoo check out the bags of the hags !!BB’s oh-so-yummy white Goyard croisiere 35, SnowT’s Dior monogram bugatti bag, and the debut of my Chanel plum 2.55 *beams* 😀

Yep, the shallow baghag brought the Chanel out for a spin today because it was a nice and rain-free day 🙂 *gawd and THAT was the highlight of my day? GEEZ I seriously need to get a life haha*

Pfffft… ok let me talk about something more significant. After all, who gives a hoot about my day anyway! I’m not some hot young thing *ugh oh please, even my own family thinks I’m trailer trash muwahaha*– remember, the broke, self-centered, self-righteous geriatric baghag wannabe? That would be me. *snicker*

So, here. It’s time to talk about bags:) BAG REVIEW!! *I miss doing this*

Edith bag. A super thin hot mama friend of mine, BerryO is wanting this bag, and I can clearly see why. Having seen this bag for myself, I got to thinking that it might be a good bag for me as well. Frankly, it’s relatively easy to convince me to like a bag… I’m not THAT jaded… yet *hehehe* The medium size works best for me, and I actually like this particular color as well. Only problem I can think of with this bag is, how fast will it catch dirt! Available for £560.85

DAY BIRGER ET MIKKELSENThis is one of those cutesie embellished shoulder bags that a tweener would carry (unless of course her parents started her young on LV and the other logomaniacal brands *snicker*). This little bag is actually a breath of fresh air. Those little tassels remind me of the itty-bitty things on DM’s receiving room *teehee*. It’s really cute although I don’t see myself carrying this (after all, I’m such a packrat and carrying this bag would entail carrying another bag to put my other things!). This is perfect for the young boho in you 😀 Priced at £97.87

VALENTINOI have rarely paid attention to this brand because Valentino was never really in the “running” when it comes to bags. (Valentino creates amazing wedding gowns though *wink*) But this embellished mustard satin bag called out to me. Especially with the Roberto Cavalli ensemble that the editors paired with this bag (oh how I can only wish I can 1. wear that dress *alas I can’t. Ugly unproportioned body would make me look like a whore if I wore that hahaha* 2. Roberto Cavalli does not make clothes for broke hags like me coz obviously we can’t afford it (I still reel from that Balenciaga dress financial fiasco *I need to keep wearing that dress so it will become cheaper for me hahaha*, thank you very much *chortle*) . Love, love evening bags because it is that one time where it is fairly excusable for you to carry a *sometimes* gaudy, uber bling bag 😀 *take note, I AM gaudy hehe*

Every diehard baghag should at least have one “exotic” bag. I know, I know, animal rights and all *don’t get me wrong, I love animals– part of which is why I can never buy an ostrich skinned bag*. A croc bag is different (how so? well crocs are carnivores and have been known to eat little children!! So, what about OUR human rights there, right? Poor, poor parents!). Also more importantly, the croc skins being used to make bags all come from croc farms. Yup! I believe there is even one croc farm right here in the Philippines! So there. I don’t feel as guilty (just don’t make me watch them skin the animals, or there goes my enthusiasm entirely *pout*). Anyyyyway, we all know how expensive croc bags are. Cases in point– the Christian Dior croc detective bag (another super yummy looking bag), costs US$18,000 *faint*. And of course the ubiquitous Hermes croc kelly 28cm is also in that same range. Alexandra Knight, who makes these exquisite croc clutches/ pochettes charge at least $2,000 for them. I mean, these babies are pricey. For $2,000, wouldn’t you rather have a large croc bag?

Here’s a latticework croc bag. And it’s big, and it’s Nancy Gonzalez. This is a good bag for one who is just beginning to appreciate exotic croc skin. The bag is priced at US$1,350.

Alrighty, that’s all that I have for tonight. I better get shuteye and attempt to wake up early again tomorrow. At least let me grab the opportunity to live a *cough* normal life 😀
