Thebaghag Lusts for…

I felt so much better today, thanks to those steroids (and to my friend Dr.JV for the free consultation haha tsk, took advantage!). I attended a wedding today wearing this old Pucci scarf of unknown provenance (seriously, I don’t remember who bought this or rather, did I buy this?!) reworked into a gown by Religioso. Oh wait, sorry I cam whored again. Promise this is my last for the week or else you’ll just have to yell at me for doing so. And please don’t tell me I have a thick waist– I actually now need a girdle to shape my waist! *Sob* I can’t believe I’ve gotten myself to admit that I need a girdle already… And girdles were once for our mumsies… Oh boy, are we getting to the end of the road already? *Cough cough fishing for compliments again, Mrs.T? Guffaw!*. Thick waist aside, I loved the gown’s simplicity (but look closely at the bottom part of the gown and you’ll see swirly details) and that it drew attention to a scarf that I had stopped using. It made me realize that scarves can be recycled *woohoo! I never thought of it this way before*. Hags, if you don’t have old scarves but have old clothes with fabulous prints and simply abhorrently icky style, have it reinterpreted 🙂

I had to surf shop today and wow this is unexpected! Barneys marked down their Fendi Moncler Spy in black– from US$1495 to just under $1,000 at US$995! Not bad eh? That’s like Php 50K! *shock* It looks like a puffed up black garbage bag actually *teehee meanie!*, but it’s just sooo cute anyway 😀 Did anyone snap this up yet? It’s a steal for a brand new bag!!! (You won’t really even get a preowned Spy in good condition at this price!)

Here’s another beauty, a white Lanvin Kansas tote. I love this bag in this color, the bag looks as soft and smooth as cream cheese! But my did the price increase already? It’s now selling for US$1,815. But this bag is really beautiful…

Speaking of Barney’s, I see that Goyard is no longer being stocked by their online store, or could I be blind and not have seen them? I haven’t seen them on the site since last December… I was given a brief explanation by the wonderful folks at Goyard, but I wouldn’t want to publish it here because I don’t want to misconstrue anything. Anyway, for the lucky baghags who have Barney’s where they live, can you confirm if they will put the brand back online? Thanks 🙂

Oh here’s my newest lust-for bag. Sigh, another Hermes. In powder pink, please– perfect for Spring. I am liking the Lindy bag a lot. It’s a double-handled bag that has 2 zippers and a flap/twistlock. The good thing about this bag is, it won’t be as heavy as the birkin, and it has a shoulder strap that would make the bag hobo-ish. Here’s a shot of the bag carried by hand. It’s really pretty and I’d love to get my hands on one. Thing is, the price is a bit of a stretch (ok, let me rephrase– the price is REALLY a stretch). A 34cm sized one (which is perfect) would cost something like US$6,000! *faints* I thought I liked the Paris-Bombay (I test drove it and didn’t like it, thank gawd), but this is a bag I like a whole lot more because of the shoulder strap (as seen here… although I don’t like this color at all… Nor do I like the outfit haha). Tsk, looks real pretty. I wish I can already get my hands on it so I can test drive the baby! (Photo credit: Style.Com)

Whoa, this Gucci Monogram Pelham bag from neimanmarcus.com is so expensive! I took an immediate liking to this particular style of Gucci when it first came out. Top dollars to carry this bag on your shoulders at US$2,090! *whistle*

Here’s something interesting– a gray nappa Bottega Veneta satchel. No signature intrecciato leather weaving, but with unquestionable signature quality. Something understated so beautiful merits admiration from moi– most baghags who are not yet “matured” into liking Bottega (I have yet to make converts out of you all haha, but it is rather hard because this brand is sadly always so expensivo *sob*) won’t really know this is a BV (as opposed to if the bag had the signature weaving). Heck if I didn’t look at the brand, even I wouldn’t know it’s BV!! (See how clueless I actually am?!) But this bag definitely made me do a double-take. I like it! Very interesting that they paired the gray leather with gold hardware! It made the bag quite striking in my eyes. Priced at US$2,760 at neimanmarcus.com .

Sigh, there is a good-bag drought this season. There are none that I’ve seriously hung onto after seeing them in stores. It’s mostly all repros of the it-bags of last year and the year before. I think we baghags are in dire need of those IT bags ala Balenciaga Motorcycle bag/ Chloe Paddington phenomena again. Bag designers, put your thinking caps on and innovate!! Can’t settle for all *cough* sloppy seconds and thirds for the rest of the years! *Muwahaha thebaghag has potty mouth tonight… My bad!*

Woops it’s sleep time for this tired baghag. Tomorrow is another day 😀 Oh, here’s a thought. If you need to feel good about your life, I suggest you go watch The Pursuit of Happyness, starring Will Smith. Smith was fantastic and proved himself as an top rate actor in my book. I guarantee you will LOVE your life. The movie made me bawl so much (because of all that raw emotion involved) but it made me appreciate what I have. And I will never forget to be grateful every waking minute for all the blessings that come my way! Go watch it!

xx
