Thebaghag is back in Manila!! :-)

Yes, I am back! A bit earlier than expected, but in one piece 🙂 We didn’t realize how powerful the storm in Manila was until we actually got home– but that would have to be another blog entry (it’s too sad!). We like pleasant news here, thank you!

The airport in SF was home to a single Duty Free Shop which housed select designer merchandise. I wish the SF airport had big boutiques like Hong Kong (now HK airport is awesome).

Fendi
Hermes

Ferragamo
Gucci
and this was the ONLY Gucci bag that’s nice. Seriously.

The DFS also had Celine bags (boogie woogies)
and LeSportsac (oh but no Tokidoki).

I have to do a lot of unpacking in a bit. I actually woke up at 3am today and was falling back to sleep around 6:15 am. Then I woke up again just now to update my blog.

Anyway hags, I am hungry now so I ought to have some breakfast *shock, I know I never ever have breakfast, and here I am asking for one… I’m telling you, all that foodfest back in SF expanded my stomach!!*

P.S. If you are a total bag hag, go get your copy of METRO Magazine’s October issue, which has a 3- page feature on bags worth buying, and a short story on how to spot a fake designer bag.

More updates tomorrow !

  1. I think the reason you like the stripes gucci is coz it reminds you of your obsession with goyard. Right? 🙂

    gucci lover

  2. gucci lover: haha you may be right there. actually there are a lot of nicer monogram canvas bags, but like LV, i’ve seen their styles already since they’ve pretty much been staples in the collection. i meant to say that the current fall styles are nothing great 😀 and the thing is, i like the jackie o, and having these stripes help too 😀

  3. wow. that comment about the only bag you thought was nice in gucci made me feel good! (on which i have a question: i have the same style i got back around 2000 give or take a year, black GG fabric, leather outside, like that bag on the display, different locks. what is the style name??? here is a picture of it.. http://static.flickr.com/91/258768219_afcbf0f995.jpg

I don’t know when the locks were changed, but I’m sure it’s been years. If you could tell me the name of it, I’d really appreciate it! I can’t even find it on the website since it’s been years!)

  4. BTW, I just read what you said about “Jackie O,” but I thought that Jackie O is curvier on the bottom? (Since the new name is Bouvier, right?)Also, the Jackie O I knew was different from my bag. right??? I even asked in a Gucci forum and no one was able to answer me!

  5. Dashed out to buy the October Metro right after reading your post. Wow!!! What a great issue! The feature on bags was something else!!!

  6. hi mrs t! welcome back. I have that exact gucci bag you liked (with the hazel/saffron/hazel sig web)in burnished gold guccisima leather. 🙂 that white one isn’t from the current collections, i think it was from the cruise collection ’06 (which was launched a year ago). it’s a nice choice though! that is the next color sig web i like aside from the classic green/red and blue/white/red. 🙂 hehe! you are too mean though… i think among the stores you posted gucci (and perhaps hermes) are the only stores i’d even look at. guess i’m just a classic gucci girl by heart. 😉

charisse! the bag you have is indeed a jackie o., the bouvier is the updated jackie o style and people just call them either way. :)(bouvier is jackie’s maiden name. nice bag too! by the way, what gucci forum are you referring to? pf?

  7. wow, that white Jakie-O with the stripes is a stunner! i agree, the current Gucci styles are a bit disappointing. especially their 85th collection. btw, i can’t stop thinking of that steak on your previous post MrsT *drool* hehehehe…. JP

  8. mg: thanks for supporting my work 😀

cc: yeah i actually normally love gucci but its just this collection that im not liking 🙂

fa: get in touch with me 09167580857

jp: trust me, i still dream of that steak. it was melt-in-your-mouth goooood!! psst if i go to australia, will u meet up with me? 😀 (baghag convention galore haha) just a thought!

charisse: before i could even answer you on gucci bags, there went our baghag CC, explaining the difference between jackie O and bouvier and they are one and the same. thanks CC 😀 and your bag is that lobster-claw lock. its still called a jackie-o.
