Thebaghag is a diehard Tears for Fears fan!!

I just came home from the Tears for Fears concert. It was AWESOME. I couldn’t stop tweeting about how fantastic it was– most (except for 2 actually) of the songs I love were part of the band’s repertoire. It was 80s all over again 🙂 And who can forget the 80s, right? The music can’t even be topped by the ones of the 90s and of today! *Sorry peeps, but I’m really an 80s music kinda gal* 😀
We were so lucky to have good excellent seats. I keep hearing about people who got VVIP seats because they bought tickets early, and was becoming envious of them *because we got our tickets so late* only to find out tonight that we were actually much closer to the stage than I had originally thought 🙂 Our seats were in the first elevated section, and we were very close to the stage! Soooo, this baghag was a SUPER happy camper!!! I got to see Roland and Curt up close 🙂 *wooohooo!!!*

Here are some photos from the concert. 🙂

See, we weren’t exactly far from the stage 🙂 Plus we didn’t really have to worry about the peeps who would later stand in front of the stage, obstructing the view for many others seated in the flat area (and those were the expensivo VVIP seats!!!).
Local bands like Sandwich and Pupil were front acts. First time for me to hear them all sing. Pretty good Pinoy bands! I’m very impressed 🙂 I particularly liked Ely Buendia 🙂 He’s real good!

And then Tears for Fears were on!!

Look at allllll the people who came to watch!!! FULL HOUSE!!!

Roland still has long-ish hair 🙂 Curt’s hair’s cut close to his head 🙂 But no matter what the hairstyle or the face, the VOICE is still the same!!! 🙂

They sang: Mad World, Shout, Head Over Heels, Everybody Wants to Rule the World, You Don’t Give Me Love, Sowing the Seeds of Love, Woman in Chains, and their version of Billy Jean among other songs. (These are the ones I can remember… though they didn’t sing Advice for the Young at Heart *sob*)

The funny thing about this concert was when they said their goodbyes (before the encore), the camera pans to some of the audience members, one of them which included Korina Sanchez- Roxas who was shown on the big screen 😀
Apart from that, the concert went fabulously well! I for one, enjoyed it very much. Thanks so much to my friend CJ who had purchased the tickets and got us super super awesome seats on our behalf!!

And to end this post, here’s a video of the live Tears for Fears performance of Woman in Chains which I took *oh by the way, this is also my first personally- uploaded video (sorry if it was shaky, shrunk the file or it’d be too big to upload) 😀 Beams* . Enjoy it!!!  🙂

And please, make sure to check out Michael Wainwright. His voice was really mind-blowing!! Roland’s introduction didn’t prepare me for his voice! He was brilliant!!!

P.S. Will post more Tears for Fears videos in a bit 🙂 Watch out for it!

  1. OH my thanks for posting first thing! I LOVED the concert! Wish they sang more and more and more of their songs! I’ve never seen such united energy!

  2. btw mrs t, mo twister also wrote in his blog that the reason the crowd booed was because of korina’s ‘L’ sign… hmmm well for me personally i think maybe she just wanted to express herself, or take the chance to do some ‘micro-campaigning’ at the moment she saw that she was on the big screen… oh well…

  3. Twas not the right time to campaign. People were there to escape and relive their youth..not to see another one of them politicians. Anyway, cool pix 🙂 By the way, the title of the song is Pale Shelter (not You Dont Give Me Love). Awesome concert!
