Somehow, I wish I had ordered bi-color… tsk. But you know what, I honestly didn’t even think this order would come through! Imagine my surprise (ok– I’m actually seriously more surprised with my impending credit card bill hahahaha… and I thought I was already “done” with “my” purchases for this year… darnit this bill is going to seriously haunt me for the rest of the year *bawls*… so to my dear Godchildren, I hope you won’t hate me if I only give you a pack of Jack n Jill Potato Chips each for Christmas this year… coz yer godmum is soooo selfissshhhhh hahahahahaha :D)
Now truth it be told, I haven’t been taking out any of my birkins lately. Because they’re just so heavy! And well, this baghag’s going to end up with osteoporosis if I don’t hold off carrying big and heavy bags all the time. So I’ll take this baby for a spin when there’s a nice event 😀
Which brings me to ask you peeps this question: If you own a Hermes birkin that you super duper love, will you get maximum mileage out of it and use it as much as you can, or will you save the bag for use on special occasions only?
I honestly can’t wait for Hermes to open in Manila. The 12 – peso question remains though: Will I be invited to the opening of Hermes Manille not? I reckon I won’t be invited *muwahahaha*. I’ve even made a bet with my friend Dex that I won’t be invited hahahahaha. (And if I do get an invite, I have to treat him at Pepper Lunch *gulp*– in the end though, I’m still a loser, both ways! Hahahaha)

Now if I had one in my closet, I’d probably just take it out on special occasions. Or, I guess, depending on how I feel, it might get a peek outside on a lazy afternoon at the mall. Honestly, it depends on my mood and laziness. Definitely not at school, though!

@ Doc D: Thanks 🙂 You can just go to any Hermes boutique (or even call if you already have a regular SA) and ask if you can do a special order– if you get lucky, they’ll take your order, though they’ll tell you there’s no guarantee that it’ll go through. I guess it was really luck for me. They’d usually take exotic skin special orders, but for regular orders, not too often. I think it’s about timing at the end of the day. 🙂 We’ll have a Hermes shop in Manila soon– you can try your luck there!

Pretty color Mrs T ohmygash! As for your question if I own a Hermes Birkin, I will not save the bag on just special occassion. After all all occassions are now special because of the Birkin hihi. Why put a baby on a closet when you can show its beauty to the world:).

wow, if i have even just one hermes (i’ll do “the secret” nga!); i’d probably wear my bag to death. i’ll use it everywhere esp in places other girls won’t dare use it *kasi sayang*— grocery, movies, malls, plane rides…except the church and my office. LOL.
i won’t preserve it for future investment or something. susulitin ko. it’s not a bag till u use it! 🙂 as for handing it down as pamana. Nah. My future daughter can just go and save one for herself. hahahah! well, easy for me to say since i don’t have a daughter yet.

i’d definitely use the bag on special social events and parties where a lot of other ladies will be sure to see (and drool over) it, haha, bad 🙂 maybe once in a while to window shopping, lunch or dinner with the girlfriends — but definitely not to the grocery or on a playdate!

So chevre is lighter than togo. I have a 15 cm Birkin in togo leather and it really is heavy. Within the first week of carrying it around everyday I developed tendonitis in my elbows.
Now I have a new appreciation for the shoulder strap of the Kelly. I’ve actually been thinking of selling my Birkin so I can use the funds to buy a Kelly.
However, I came upon this Birkin by sheer luck, so I’m still thinking about it.
But gosh, it is so heavy!
