The Bag Hag’s Back… Kind of :)

Greetings from the “dead”  hahaha (what a morbid way to start this post). Good grief, I haven’t been on this blog for a whole month!!! This is really unprecedented in all the years that I’ve been blogging!  I almost forgot I still had this responsibility to blog, to the point that when I had decided to make time to write a short post today, I got locked out of my account because I forgot how to log in, and forgot my log in details! Thank you so much to Team Sven Ingenuity for troubleshooting and for getting me into my account. I swear, I don’t know what I’d do without you guys 😀 *Shoutout to Enzo for helping facilitate the mess that I got myself into haha*

I had been meaning to share stories on why I hadn’t really been writing in the last month, but the bulk of it is this– real life took over social media life. As you know, I have dedicated so many years of my life focused on developing a social media identity and maintaining my social media presence (I have obviously not been doing a job of this haha). This year and specifically in these last 2 months,  I decided to take a step back and just really enjoy the real world, away from all the maddening social media posts. And that explains the little activity on Instagram and the non-existent activity on this blog. For that, I apologize. Because I never really meant to abandon this blog! You guys have been with me for over a decade, and I don’t think it’s fair that I just drop this and disappear! So no, you have definitely not yet heard the last of me YET! 🙂

Many of you might have been wondering and speculating on the status of my marriage since I have ceased to mention anything about my husband in the last 8 years or so now. And today I confirm it– the marriage broke down years ago. Yes, for a long time now. My ex- husband and I have been living completely separate lives. I’d have wanted to share more details but I hope you understand why I chose not to, out of respect for my children. At the end of the day, all I want is to protect my kids and make sure that they maintain a healthy relationship with their father and grow up well. It’s funny though because for awhile now, so many people have speculated that I have moved on with other people which led to the breakdown of the marriage. I can tell you now that it’s a load of hogwash. The truth is, no one outside my circle and family will really know what happened. But the sad reality is this– many of these close- minded people fail to understand the concept that purely platonic friendships and relationships between the opposite sex actually do exist! Such a judgmental society we live in 🙂 If you are seen out with someone from the opposite sex, people immediately speculate on the relationship of that person to you LOL. Seriously, isn’t that just so twisted? That is the reason why we as a society are stuck in the dark ages! I personally don’t think speculation is healthy. So please peeps, if you are smart, save the speculation for the stock market 😀 And this will also be the last you’ll hear about this because I have no more words to add (even if I am soooo tempted to) as I really don’t want to pepper my blog with negative emotions. It is not going to be productive and will only add to the toxicity that already pollutes our social media realm 🙂 Sooo that pretty much explains one part of my life to you all. Oh and the absence on social media has very little to do with this by the way, in case anyone decides to speculate again haha :).  Anyway, that’s one of the not- so- big reveal in my life. There is one more exciting development, but I’ll hold out on the sharing for another post 🙂

Last month, I went on a vacation with my kids and headed to a few cities in Italy and to Hungary. I have a pre-teen and a teenager. We normally travel together with my whole family (my mom, brothers and sis-in-law, and nieces and nephew), so it is quite a rare opportunity for me to travel with the kids where it’s just us three. I had to battle out jet lag with the kids, and it was soooo difficult LOL. But I have not recalled a much more fun time with these 2, exploring different cities and well, them eating a whole lot and me getting the bulk of the weight gain that should’ve been theirs haha. I’ll definitely write about this and will share with you on the blog because I want to share my itinerary with you all 🙂

And before I end this short post (hmm is this still a short post?!), I just wanted to give a shoutout to my favorite fashion journalist, Jessica Michault, editor of ODDA Magazine, contributor to Business of Fashion, and SVP of industry relations at GPSRadar.com, for her feature on yours truly today 🙂

Thank you so much! Follow Jessica on instagram too, as she is one of the best fashion journalists in the industry who churns out the most comprehensive 60- second video reviews of the latest collections from different designers during fashion week.
