Thankful, grateful, respectful

It’s Christmas in 10 days! 🙂

Last December 12, about 350 kids from the feeding programs (and Sunday School programs) of the Missionaries of Charity gathered together at Father Blanco’s Garden for their annual Christmas party,
hosted by Rea Gomez- Harrow of Moms for Moms. The people you see in the photo below have given their time in volunteering for the party, to ensure that there is a smooth flow, from the distribution of food, to the distribution of loot bags for each child. You know who you are, THANK YOU!!!

Here are some excerpts of the party, as I will leave Rea to post more photos in full detail in the Moms for Moms blog soon (after she recovers from the Christmas rush and her continued help to the communities that are in need of assistance).

MC DONALD’S was the FOOD SPONSOR of the Missionaries of Charity. THANK YOU, MC DO! 🙂

We also had prizes, toys as well as shoes sponsor RICHWELL TRADING CORPORATION, which is the sole distributor of the Mattel brand, as well as Hotwheels, Shelcore, Cosco Juvenile, MegaBloks,VTech, Sesame Street, and other well- known brands.
The Magician
and the Host (seen here with Rea Harrow),
both provided for by our very kind and very giving friend, MARIVICL (THANK YOU! More blessings your way!!)
2 Ice cream carts which gave out 400 ice cream cones for the kids and the volunteers, provided for by ANNIE and CLARAV (Thank you SO much!!!!)
A Bouncy Castle, provided for by Rea’s friend *I will ask if she is ok with her name being published :D*  THANK YOU! Even Sister had a ball inside the bouncy castle 🙂
Sponsors came in: From Unilab to Procter and Gamble (for the loot bags)
(That Malboro box is just a BOX to store the other goods–  let it be known that there were no  ciggies given out *in case someone questions what that box is doing there :D) I have no idea where that box came from though)
Volunteers who directly helped in the kiddie programs: CV Travel’s Eric, Boyet, and Lisa 🙂 *Thank you so much for your help + unending patience with all the kids 🙂 !!!*
And here they are: The children. All 350 of them 🙂
And the Sisters from the Missionaries of Charity (Alay ng Puso) who help feed these children and teach them Catholicism on Sundays. Our tireless, selfless heroes.
Congratulations, Rea, for organizing this and handling this logistically difficult undertaking on your own! *You are my hero too!!*   And to the donors as well as to the people who have helped by giving their most precious time to helping out in this event, a BIG THANK YOU. You are all an inspiration to me. You all make me want to be a better person *Senti*. This is what life should  really be all about–sharing our blessings and helping others in need.
THANK YOU!!!  I will continue to wish everyone a remaining good 2009, and am very hopeful that the year 2010 will be even better for all of us as well. Stop the hatred and anger,  and put a stop to social apathy.  Be grateful, learn to give back,  show some lovin’, and pay it forward 🙂
God Bless!
