Thai Food Festival til June 7 only!

I am a big fan of Thai food. So when I was told by the wonderful people of Mandarin Oriental Manila about their Thai Food Festival at Paseo Uno, I couldn’t resist joining the first day “launch” of the food fest.
Besides, the Thai Food Festival will only be around until June 7– so yes, you peeps have FOUR days left to enjoy the feast! Oh and before I forget to mention (and this is an important piece of information, peeps :D)– diners who avail of this Thai Festival buffet
will get a chance to win a pair of roundtrip tickets to Chiang Mai (thanks to the Tourism Authority of Thailand)– the prize includes a 3- night stay with breakfast at the palatial resort, the Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi.
At the lunch were
Dave (in black) from Tourism Authority of Thailand, famous interior designer Chito Antonio (who by the way, bakes the best apple pie!), Malou of Thai Airways, and of course, a man who needs no introduction, Johnny Litton.
And there was Mandarin’s Director of Communications Charisse Chuidian, with Mandarin’s General Manager Mark Bradford
Missing in the photo is Erika Aquino, who just got a promotion at the Mandarin Oriental! I’m so happy for you, girl!! 🙂
And now, ladies and gentlemen, your dinner *or lunch in my case!* 😀 There was SO MUCH food but I had to narrow down my shots to these because my battery then was dying *tsk*

Beef– it may not look like much, but oh man, it was very, very good!!!

My favorite, Pomelo Salad!!!

Pla Nueng Mah Now (steamed fish with lemon grass spicy sauce)  and Tamarind chicken (on the other side)

Yes, this was my plate. My gosh, I finished ALL of it! Not a big fan of the tamarind chicken, but it was something different. The beef + fish were both very delicious. If I wasn’t planning on doing yoga that afternoon, I would have even filled my plate up with rice to go along with this meal hahahaha. Oh I also had Tom Kha Gai (coconut cream with chicken) Soup by the way! It was delicious!!!

And don’t miss the desserts!

Mango with sticky rice– my favorite!!!! (This was reallly authentic. I say this because the ones I’ve tasted elsewhere were nothing quite like this! Soooooo goooood!!!)

I thought I was going to watch the diet, but I went back for 2nds!!

Compliments to the chefs of Mandarin Oriental Dhara Devi, Chiang Mai, for the most delightful Thai food!

Oh and here’s a public service announcement to those who want to learn to cook AUTHENTIC Thai dishes like Labb Gai (spicy minced chicken, mint leaves, and shallot salad), Tom Yum Goong *my faaaavorite!* (spicy prawn with herbs soup_, and Keang Kiew Warn Gai (green curry with pork), Chef Pirawat Yodsawas of the Culinary Academy of Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi will conduct a ONE DAY cooking class on June 5, at 9am. It’s only Php 2,850++ to learn (cheaper than flying to Thailand and taking classes there :D).

And for those who want to try the Thai Food Festival at Paseo Uno, it’s just Php 1,480++ per head (children Php 790++). And don’t forget that you get a chance to win those roundtrip tickets + Mandarin Oriental hotel stay in  Chiang Mai!  🙂 The deal is too sweet to pass up!
Mandarin Oriental can be reached at (+632) 750-8888 *cooking class reservations + Paseo Uno reservations :D*
Tomorrow, I will be blogging about the private screening of Sex and the City 2, hosted by Mercedes Benz 🙂 Excited to share the photos with you all!! 🙂 🙂
