Summer at Hermes Paris

While the whole of Paris sizzled in summer, the windows at Hermes continue to keep the brand’s cool.

A real beauty, the lilac (or mauve) colored Hermes JPG shoulder birkin in suede.

What a beautiful main window…

Rose dragee in swift. This is a perennial favorite color for summer. A great alternative to white.

I love the collier de chien in gold and silver leather. It’s fantastic. But when I asked about it, they said it’s a special order. Hmm that got me thinking! 🙂 I also find the dentelle plume real interesting, although you won’t see me buying that ever. Haha.

A little thing or two for men
Doesn’t this bag remind you of a Goyard beluga?
Beautiful Plumes… I love the prints
A matte crocodile Haut a Courroies bag in parchemin.
Fuchsia crocodile goodies!! You can’t miss this window– it literally pops right out! There’s a 25cm fuchsia- orange crocodile birkin, crocodile kelly pochette, H sandals in fuchsia croc, and a croc plume among everything else on display.

Hermes Kelly in 2 sizesmade of fabric and trimmed in white leather. I’m not fond of this at all…

Another kelly made of fabric. Looks like fabric for your sofa hehehe…
The bolide’s yummy. I’m seriously beginning to like the bolide– just not in croc 🙂

And Hermes’ “colored” piece de resistance (at least in my opinion), the fuchsia crocodile kelly 32cm in shiny porosus.
All those shop windows with Kelly bags prompted me to wonder, why the birkin is just so much more popular than the Kelly. But know what, I actually love the Kelly a lot more since it has a shoulder strap that you can use. The birkin is just a “hand” bag– unless you have anorexic- thin arms and the bag can be carried on the shoulder (as an armpit bag hehe)…

And the bad news at the end of this post? Hermes INCREASED prices for leather goods again yesterday. Between 8 – 12%, I’m told.

But ahhh… Hermes will always have a loyal following and well, come hell or high water, people will always flock to one of the last strongholds of luxury.
