Something old but something “different” :)

For the year 2008, it seems that those so- proclaimed “it” bags as well as the perennial classics will retain its renowned- for styles, but it’s in the material where they will differ (oh and also in price of course hehe.. who could forget THAT?!)

Take for instance Bottega Veneta’s intrecciato hobo. The style’s been a staple in the brand’s bag collection, but BV ups the ante and produces a hobo (an interwoven hobo too!) in ostrich! For US$6,800 you are sure to turn heads. Ostrich leather used to be something I sorta disliked (reminded me of my acne farm hahaha eewww). But for some reason, I “graduated” from that aversion and actually began liking it! I am not fond of this color much, but it’s pretty nonetheless. Available at neimanmarcus.com

Another bag which was recently seen on the arms of newlywed actress Katherine Heigl is the Jimmy Choo Ramona bag. While this tote became rather popular, I was not one of those who took to the trend like fish to water. But our own local celeb Ruffa Gutierrez did, as she was spotted carrying a black one to the Imelda Collection cocktails. Anyway, if you wanted something more luxe than just the regular leather, there’s the crocodile skin version, at US$14,000 a pop. *Wolfwhistle*. Available at neimanmarcus.com 🙂

And lastly, another exotic bag on this list is the Hermes crocodile birkin, as seen on the arms of actress Eva Longoria. Now THAT is what I call a serious bag *drools nonstop*. Her fuchsia bag caused quite a stir among the baghag community last 2007. Well, it’s inevitable. That bag is really a killer 😀 For those who want something above the croc birkin (which in my opinion, is already the Mount Everest), you can go with the Hermes crocodile birkin with diamonds! *Shriek!!* And yeah, one is available for the taking right now at the Hermes boutique that I shop at 🙂 Price? US$157,000++. *Drops dead*

Of course, if your financials read similar to mine *cough broke broke baghag*, then we can just ogle and watch the “exotics” women from a distance. Hmm… unless of course you’ve got serious $ to burn this year (and be willing to forego sending your kids to school hahaha… tsk bad mumsy!!) *Haha and you CAN afford to send your kids to school and still burn those $, ring me up– I’ll be more than willing to accompany you to go exotic bag shopping hahaha… tsk tsk tsk handmaiden for life!!*
