Socialclimbing hag Log: OLAY Total Effects + TRESOR

Thebaghag social climbs again (and it HAS been a long time, hasn’t it!). This time, it was for the official unveiling of the new product of OLAY (which coincided actually with the event at the new Greenbelt 5!!).

About half a month ago, I received this beautiful box, which opened up to Olay’s new product called Total Effects with 7 vitamins and minerals. I felt so privileged to be part of this test group of women who were asked to try the product *brag brag brag*. I was a willing guinea pig. My skin is practically a virgin to skin products *and this is really true, I don’t even know how to put on makeup on my own! Shame*, and rightly said, it is time for my skin to take some “medicine”. I am after all, getting old *sniff… bawl.. ok I am already old*. Olay Total Effects was actually pretty awesome on my skin, it made my skin so much smoother. It worked as a moisturizer during night, and worked as well during the day as a base as well as a sunblock cream.

After a few times of usage of Total Effects, we met up with the other women who were part of this group, and had a nice lunch at Shangrila Hotel, to discuss the after effects of the product. Our skin underwent this “age test” through this cool machine which basically mapped out pores, age spots, wrinkles, and fine lines. Let me say this first– my skin, is actually pretty bad. I have a lot of age spots and fine lines. To top that, I have huge pores. So when I took that skin test, and the result was that my skin fell on the 21- year old age group, I laughed it all off. But hey, it felt great! 😀 So I religiously used this product to this day 🙂 Olay is the same product that our mothers used back when we were just tiny tots, and now I guess it is really our turn to start using the product. Our moms have sworn by it, and now I am one of the moms who swear by it 🙂 (Olay Total Effects is not yet available in the local market, but soon will be :D)

Fast forward to today– the press awaits at the packed launching event held at the Edsa Shangrila Ballroom. Who were the 5 women chosen to represent Olay?

Here they are!L-R Miriam Quiambao (former beauty queen), Dr. Pie Calayan (cosmetologist to the stars), Menchu Lauchengco Yulo (theater actress), Ines Delgado (Itsie-Bitsie’s fashionable owner), and of course, Daphne Oseña Paez (fashionable hot mom, TV host of ANC Life and Urban Zone).

Daphne is really the perfect spokesmodel for this product. 🙂 Look at her, she just glows 🙂 🙂

As part of this group of women who came to the event tonight, we were given some nice loot for takeaway 🙂A fresh bottle of Olay Total Effects (yay! I don’t have to buy another one just yet hehe), and a gift certificate for a portrait session with ace photographer Pancho Escaler. 🙂 There’s also something from Natori, but I’m getting mine “in the mail” hehe.. See, I was just an insignificant fruitfly to have gotten that Natori goodie bag (while everyone else got theirs– well they brought their escorts and the escorts got goodie bags *pout where’s OUR goodie bag? teeheee freeloader galore!*).

Everyone was a happy camper tonight (hehee why wouldn’t I be happy– I was in my usual freeloading self hehehe). I actually felt kinda icky tonight (ugh. PMS) but my Prada satin clutch made its official debut 😀 I just sat with Metro Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Mel Cuevas and had a great dinner together (P&G sure knows how to throw a great product launch party!). Major glossies editors-in-chief were also all present at the launch: Mega’s Carla Sibal, Lifestyle Asia’s Sari Yap, Preview’s Pauline Suaco and Agoo Bengzon, and Cosmopolitan’s Ianne Evangelista.

Here’s a nice photo:
New mom Daphne Oseña- Paez with Metro’s E.I.C Mel Cuevas, and Look Models International’s Faith Amigo.

Speaking of Prada and Metro Magazine, too bad I won’t be able to watch the advance screening of The Devil Wears Prada, sponsored by Metro and the Lifestyle Network, which will be held at the Podium cinema on August 21, Monday 🙁 Has anyone seen the film? How is it? 🙂 Tell, tell!!

  1. One of my best friends uses Total Effect everyday and loves it!! I have yet to discover it because like you, I don’t use make up and I hardly take care of my skin! 🙁

Please let us know the best places to go around Singapore! I’ll be stopping by Singapore for a few days before I land in Manila this December! Can’t wait!

  2. hey devil wears prada is so good!!! its so nice.. hahahah i could watch it over and over and over again…

  3. I saw The Devil Wears Prada and I give it two thumbs up. Meryl Streep was phenomenal! And yes, I love Olay. You should try the regenerating serum (skin absorbs this a lot more than regular moisturizers). It works great in renewing the skin’s surface and fading unsightly blemishes. It makes your skin glow. Have fun in Singapore.

  5. i just bought my serum yesterday and undergone the bis test. i’m 26 and got high scores on the pores, texture and spots test but come the wrinkle test..hayayayay! i guess i made so much noise when i found out my wrinkle test is a boo-hoo 10% meaning i have the skin of a 36 year old in terms of wrinkles but that of a 16-yr old in terms of texture.. hmm.. is that possible?!? anyway i’ll be having my 2nd test after 3 weeks..hopefully the wrinkles would have faded by then.
