Socialclimbing BagHag at the Private Party of Jeweller Jul B. Dizon

Sorry I didn’t blog yesterday. I was so caught up with the little dinner party for my 14 friends at my place last night that by the time it was over, I just dragged my sorry bootie to bed ๐Ÿ˜€ If you must know, I cooked crabs with Asian garlic pasta for dinner *yes, for 14 people* (and our other friend, AT cooked tempura!) I swore off cooking for a large group after last night. It was soooo draining! But hopefully everyone liked the food… *hahaa I don’t hear anyone complaining of a stomach ache… yet!*

Fast forward to today… Ahhh nothing beats a private party to cap off my otherwise tiring week! I love the concept of the party thrown by celebrated jeweller Jul B. Dizon. Held at the Presidential Suite of The Peninsula Hotel, Manila at 3:00pm (and another one at 6pm), a small set of women (like 20) were invited to preview the latest bling which complemented the beautiful gowns from House of Laurel. (This is the beginning of a series of mini- private parties… Gotta love the personal service at small parties!)

Baghags, the event, before I begin to describe it, has its fair share of spectacular bags to feast your eyes on (so yes, even if I didn’t get to gorge on the yummy food prepared by the Pen, I was still a more-than-contented cow).

Now, let’s talk jewellery. Jul’s daughter JaninaDH has exquisite pieces which she has designed herself (and is not YET selling *we are waiting…. waiting… impatiently waiting :D*) that included a beautiful tsavorite and diamond encrusted serpent ring which culminates in a nice pear shaped rubellite (or is it spinel?). She also wore a very ornate gothic bracelet encrusted with sapphires, peridots, and traces of enamel (it was gorgeous!!! Check out her wrist!) It is a pretty affordable line because she is using silver as the base metal. But hey, silver + precious and semi precious stones= afforable bling investments!!

Other exquisite pieces included “new jade” carved flower rings with spinel accents, also in silver, large silver floral brooches (we likey!), tourmaline cabochon rings, and of course, the piece de resistance *in my opinion*, a multi-colored diamond encrusted bracelet. It’s VERY pretty, and I dare not try it on my wrist too *I am sooo not worthy of something so beautiful*. I just had to keep staring at it from afar ๐Ÿ™‚

Ladies who went to the event were all in awe with the pieces (ahh the perils of being a woman… but oh do we looove being women :D) like the signature bangles of Jul Dizon.
The pretty “J” women, with bag lady JudithG who carried *natch!*, a Proud Mary bag ๐Ÿ™‚
Jeweller Candy Dizon with DoyeeT (who brought her Hermes Kelly)
JennyT and DebbieS *who carried a black YSL Muse*
Jul B. Dizon herself, with Salome and her lovely friends Rufina and Mary
A set of bags… who belongs to what bag? ๐Ÿ˜€ *wink wink*

Pssst, I spied an orange ostrich Hermes birkin too! *drool*
Fashion Designer Rajo Laurel
and the models (along with Jul B. Dizon) who made us drool because 1. they’re soo skinny and filled out in the right places, 2. the gowns were beautiful, 3. and most important of all, they got to wear those amazing jewellery!!

I enjoyed the afternoon immensely because I also got to chat up a storm with fellow jewelry and bag lovers (sigh, I need a job. ASAP. Loving expensive things can only spell financial doom. *bawl*). But in all seriousness, those who have never entered the jewellery salon of Jul B. Dizon should really give it a go, because there are plenty of affordable pieces in the boutique. And really, you will be pleasantly surprised. It’s great to have that favorite bag that you swear you’ll keep forever, but hey, it’s also a great idea to spend some of that bag fund in jewellery. If you have children, then this is also an ideal form of investment for them to have one day. *Hey, I am being practical too, I am not just churning out excuses here. Bags and jewellery ARE meant to be investment pieces and we are mere custodians who get to enjoy them before the next gen gets their hands on em :D*

This Christmas, swing by the Jul B. Dizon jewellery salon. You don’t need a boyfriend/ lover/ husband to buy you jewellery. Heck, treat yourself to something there just because you rightfully deserve it. And hey, if you have plenty $$$ then you can buy that beautiful multi-colored diamond bracelet– you become a custodian for an exquisite piece of jewellery that will last generations *and woohaa you have a bragworthy piece that will make me kiss the ground you walk on hahaha*.

Jul B. Dizon Jewellery Salons are located at Ground Floor of the Edsa Shangrila Hotel and at the Mezzanine of the Peninsula Hotel, Manila. Call them at (02) 634-7448 (Edsa Shang branch), at (02) 8864638 (Peninsula branch). Both salons are closed on Saturdays and Sundays by the way.

More talk tomorrow. I can’t believe it’s Christmas in two weeks + !

P.S. Baghags, thanks for your emails on new bag purchases! I will post them tomorrow for our fellow baghags ๐Ÿ˜€

xx
