Sickly Baghag

Sorry haven’t been able to post anything for the last two days. I was really glued to my bed, very, very ill. I had high grade fever (up to 40 degrees!!) and currently have a severe case of bronchitis. I have no idea where I got it, but thank goodness for antibiotics, fever gone as of now. However, I’ve started coughing uncontrollably (thick phlegm) and have some trouble breathing as a result. Been nebulizing twice a day. So it’s pretty bad– I actually felt like I was on my death bed these few days!! *Morbid*

Thank you for all your comments in the last few days. I can understand how some of you’d also want to take the photographer’s side, especially since he hasn’t come up with his side of the story. That’s good for him to know that there are those who empathize with him. My stand on this remains the same– I do not regret having blogged about the incident.

*Biatchy baghag in 3… 2… 1*

But to the naysayers who think I’ve “ruined” a photographer’s career, that I could be sued etc, here’s what I have to say: I cannot be slapped with a Slander suit in a court of law because I did NOT orally defame the photographer and more importantly, I didn’t even mention his full name (err wait, I didn’t even mention a name). And FYI slander is ORAL defamation. Yeah, I may be a ditz most of the time, but I took up Communications Law so don’t throw around legal words with me thinking I’d get scared– so enough with those anonymous comments because I can just have my tracker pin down your IP address and google earth where you live (yes, Big brother is watching– and no, I ain’t scaring you. Just telling it like it is)

And another thing, reputations can be ruined, but they can always be repaired. Think of it this way, the photographer was not yet known in the industry of my peers before this happened, but now he IS known. If he redeems himself, he even gets an edge because his name is already familiar, as opposed to the others who have been trying very hard to become known in the industry (and I know there are plenty out there who’ve been trying to break into the industry). I have to be frank here– there are SO many photographers in our workplace now– and they’re all good. So it does help to have a “name”. As in the rule in show business, good publicity or bad publicity is STILL publicity. And at the end of the day, if he is an excellent photographer, he will still be able to get jobs left, right, and center. His work should speak for itself, and his character is secondary. So if he has a strong portfolio, he will still “make it” in our industry. Again, just telling it like it is.

I texted Mr.Photog a few minutes ago to inform him that I hadn’t received an email from him. He wasn’t able to send me his explanation because he was busy, and he is apparently hoping that we’d meet up still to discuss the incident. Alas, my health does not permit me to do so, so I had to insist on his letter again. That way too, words won’t get taken out of context.

Sigh. This is really getting tiring already. I wanna talk bags already. So until his letter arrives in my e-mailbox, I have to call it quits on this story for now. The ball’s in your court, Mr. Photog. Whenever you’re ready. It would be nice if you could write a letter which I will publish. Then when I feel better, hopefully by mid next week or late next week, we can meet up again.

Now I have to crawl back to bed. I’m no longer able to keep my eyes open. I’ve been taking a huge dose of antibiotics (augmentin 2,000 mg a day) with anti-asthma medicine and ibuprofen.

I have lost my appetite and have just been eating arroz caldo. If it weren’t for my friend ChrisL’s homemade callos (which are awesome), I’d probably not be eating at all. ChrisL: Your callos are heaven sent. Thank you so much. (Peeps, I think I’ve managed to ask ChrisL to take orders of her specialty, callos. More info on how to order soon– and believe me, you’ll wanna thank me for having convinced her to sell them!!)

Hope to be better to blog about bags tomorrow.

P.S. Thanks to the “friends who heal”– Your distant healing is keeping me strong 🙂 Thank you so much to all who’ve sent texts of well- wishes. Hope to be better soon. Really appreciate the concern!

KYG: Thanks so much for your concern! It has been pretty nasty these few days. Hope you are well– is “he” gone yet?

  2. Get well soon, Mrs. T!

Hey, was wondering about your friend’s callos the other day. Do share with us if she accepts orders.

As for the photog, i totally agree with you. No oral defamation done!

  3. if fotog guy was a nice person, he would have apologized to the guard first, before the situation blew out of proportion. And if he was a decent person, he should have given you a call, and explained his side of things. Heck, being a non-fussy person, a text or a email would have cut it right?
And so like gas and other bodily secretions, this too shall pass.
And for the anons who threaten you with slander and defamation, which crazy farm let you out early? Let me guess, relatives of mr. fotog are ye?
chin up Mrs. T. I am sending you all my good vibes.
