Santana Row- August 2008

My SF trip wouldn’t have been complete if I didn’t go to Santana Row in San Jose. It’s a good one hour drive from where we live.

I didn’t really shop in Santana Row. I just walked around while listening to music on my iTouch. I’m pretty easy to please. No shopping needed 😉 *for once!*

Thought of popping by Hotel Valencia, have a few drinks… but then I chickened out. There were a lot of guys there. Didn’t wanna get picked up. *Read: Afraid no one will pick me up hahahaha*

So I just went to Borders. You know, read up on the latest in Fashion… for free *muwahaha*

Went to my fave store, Anthropologie. If I had loads of money, I’d get all my daily clothes here hehehe… But alas, these pockets are not made solely for Anthropologie… the budget is tight ! *Sob*

Anne FontaineI used to love wearing white shirts all the time, til I grew a round belly and could no longer look presentable in tailored white shirts *major sob*

BCBG Max Azria. I love the dresses of BCBG. They fit me well. I walked out with a new dress 🙂 *just need to tone my arms or the dress would look terrible on me hahaha*

There’s Burberry. Always thought my kids would look cute in Burberry. But then reality hit me early and made me remember that I don’t have a designer clothing budget and what more my kids, right? 🙂 *hehehe here’s my reasoning: no need for designer clothes for kids– they grow out of it so fast (read: No budget for designer clothes for kids hahaha)*

Burberry bag. Yeck. Me no likey. Does it not look like the Jimmy Choo Ramona?

Furla. Look at that quilted bag inside. Reminds me of Marc Jacobs/ Tods when they did that “quilted” design route.

Oh well, I guess this trip is no bag “bagging” trip. Nothing really interested me. Although throughout this trip, I realized that one of the best bags ever made, is the Hermes Lindy.

No, I’m not plugging the Lindy on the Tresor site (at least not this time haha) I’m just saying that throughout this trip, the only bag I used was a Hermes brighton blue lindy 34cm, and I really, really, really loved it. It worked so well for me– size- wise, and weight-wise. I went to Hermes to check and the bag now costs Php 300,000 converted. Thank goodness I got my bag a little before the price increase then! 😀

I highly recommend the Lindy. It’s understated (no one knows what brand it is– I know, I know, this is soo not me haha), lightweight, versatile (shoulder/ hand carry), and packs plenty!

  1. Hi Mrs.T, I saw a picture of you carrying the pink Lindy in TP Forum & it really looked good on you!

Just wondering, do you think a 34cm Lindy can be carried by a plump woman… or it will “add on” ones frame?

    Thanks!

  2. i love santana row! too bad we weren’t able to go around much because we had some kids in tow. oh well. 🙂 i also like the palo alto mall (what’s it called?)

  3. Hi Mrs. T! I love how you describe your travels, seems like so much fun! This is unrelated to your post, but if you had 3 days 2 nights in hong kong purely for leisure how would you spend it? What are good restaurants and shopping places and other go see places? thanks in advance!

  4. mrs t, i checked the lindy in dust color in hermes paris and it was actually not a bad price but definitely not within my budget at the moment. still , its very understated and chic ! show us ur lindy ! i wanna see it!

  5. Hi Mrs T! Glad to read that you are having a GREAT time in the Bay Area. I love the Lindy but unfortunately, I have the Rose Dragee one and it’s the ultimate “PRINCESS” bag 😛 I live in jeans so my Lindy is very prone to denim stains and what not. This shade is definitely not a workhorse bag. As much as I love colors, I think I *need* it in a workhorse shade … I just got my hands on the new Evelyne III in Prune and I love it! The adjustable strap allows me to carry it on my shoulder, under my arm, perfecto! Messenger bags doesn’t work for me so I am really pleased with my latest buy 🙂
