Salcedo Market + TRESORMAKATI update

Today is the day we will decide on who wins the LV trousse makeup! Boy, there are A LOT of flying votes, which makes it hard for me to count votes (tsk tsk, folks didn’t I say no flying votes? Sheesh imagine if this were the election for some high government post tsk tsk *hahaha*).

Anyway we will announce the winner within the day if not by tomorrow. We gotta weed out votes first!

Last Saturday, we went to the Salcedo market and yes, we were there at an ungodly hour of 9:00am (on a weekend). We are rarely awake at 9am on weekends, but strangely we were able to get our big derrieres out of bed and into this market. The early morning jaunt was definitely worth it. One, I ran into an old friend AC whom I haven’t seen since 1996!! And second, there was just a plethora of things for sale, that it is just a sin not to “shop”!

Fresh seafood *including, eeeew frog legs*,potted plants, fruits, fruits, and more fruits, desserts (like the pandan pudding which I sooo love and hoard when I eat at Pho Hoa), and all these grilled foods– fish, chicken, corn (I wonder if they have grilled frog legs *yuck*).

Later on in the evening, we headed out to Mall of Asia for dinner. Wheee this is actually a mall that I don’t like so much because it was just too “messy”. But the inlaws haven’t really been to this place, so we decided to all go *tsk I’m such a good daughter inlaw, accompanying them to dinner hehehe I deserve a new bag!!!! hahaha*.

Dinner was at this place right by the Bay called Gumbo. The place is quite nicely done, with a huge open kitchen where chefs would yell out “Ahh. Seafood Jambalaya” every other minute. So of course, we ended up ordering that very same dish they were so “marketing”.

It did not disappoint. The seafood jambalaya dish was very good. For a grande order, you pay Php 425. We also ordered the New Orleans Delight Pizza (likewise very good) for Php 395, the Spaghetti Puttanesca (for DT) as well as a bread bowl of Clam Chowder (another good dish). We wanted to try the Key Lime Pie, but they were out of it, so that was just too bad. Our server though, informed us that we had a complimentary dessert *sundae* which DH was looking forward to (hehe DH is lucky, he can take in all the sweets he wants and not even gain a single ounce!). But that same server later comes back saying that they were already “out” of that complimentary dessert. Geez, what a tease. This is restaurant 101– if you already say it out loud that you are giving out something complimentary, you never renege. Instead, you should just replace it– perhaps give away one cup of coffee or something. You never take it back. Tsk tsk.

But the dinner was quite satisfactory in the end. We just wished we had something sweet afterwards (too cheap to buy hahaha).

TRESOR MAKATI UPDATE:
(I know I have not updated that site, I figured I’d post new bags here and eventually post them on TRESOR— don’t you hags already know, this blog is my life *chortle :D*)

1. Louis Vuitton Black Taiga Viktor. The bag measures 13″L x 11″H x 4″W, and is perfect as a laptop bag (as what the seller used this briefly for). I never thought that black taiga could be a “unisex” bag, but this certainly counts as being one. The bag has very minimal wear, the flap has a small fold at the top and some very minimal scratches, but it is in overall very good condition. The bag back also has some folds but filling it with stuffing should get the shape back. The interior is very clean, and the shoulder/ bodybag strap is adjustable. It does not come with a dustbag anymore. TRESOR PRICE: Php 40,000.

2. Louis Vuitton Mini Monogram Josephine PM. Measures 10.5″L x 7.5″H x 6″W, the color of this bag is khaki. The bag still has plastic on its 4 bottom feet as well as the interior zipper. Nice neutral color! The exterior of the bag is practically new, no dirt marks whatsoever. Interior though, has a lipstick/ liquid stain at the bottom of the bag. There are no other flaws in this bag except for the interior part. It will come with the LV dustbag. TRESOR PRICE: Php 50,000.

P.S. Lookie lookie what our dear baghag friend Paz got! A beautiful custom-painted Goyard croisiere 35 in green! Oooh girl I am GREEN with envy!! 😀
