Protection of Intellectual Property!

Hey peeps!

Just had to check in with you all on this long weekend. Hope your halloween trick-o-treating went well and more importantly, hope you didn’t get stuck in traffic when you went to the cemetery!

Anyway, again I was just checking in 😀 Oh and by the way, special thanks to baghag V for informing me about this person who “stole” my photo and used it in a popular auction site. It’s really annoying when people do that. Sometimes I just get real lazy to watermark my photos, and voila, there you have the unscrupulous peeps who “prey” on that opportunity and steal the photos. It really eats me up. What irks me more is, these peeps would then watermark the photo and claim it as their own! *Fuming*

Here’s the photo that this person used. The seller ERASED my watermark of “Mrs.T” (notice my shirt design above, some scrollwork went missing because he/she/ photoshopped it!!) and carefully typed in her own watermark “Highendbaglife“. Wrong move. *SCREAM!!!* Copyright police, arrest the Hermes photo thief!!! *points to the direction of the auction user ID*

I KNOW that photo above is MOI. I keep files of my photos where I look thin! *Muwahaha Cough.. obsessed*

I used that specific photo on my blog post dated January 13, 2007— the day I debuted the bag.
Here’s that photo again, which I am now watermarking twice. I got my Hermes blue brighton birkin late last year and posted some photos of the bag on this blog. I didn’t watermark it well in the past, not thinking that someone would actually “steal” the photo to use as their own.
It’s these times that I wish I had a big stick so I can thwap those who enjoy stealing other people’s work and claiming it as their own. To those who are guilty of doing such (plagiarizing, stealing…), do the work on your own and don’t steal other people’s photos/ literary works/ inventions. I don’t think you’d be happy if others did the same thing to you. And if you actually want to use photos, learn how to ASK PERMISSION first and give DUE CREDIT to the original owner.

Anyway, that’s about it for now. I’ll resume regular bag talk tomorrow. Just had to vent. I’m not trying to earn enemies by doing this, rather I am trying to garner support for the protection of intellectual property and copyright. This is a serious matter that needs to be brought up and this is the perfect time to do so. Again, if you wish to use someone else’s work, credit the work and ask permission from the owner first! *Smoke coming out of thebaghag’s ears :D*

xx
