PRADA and GUCCI Fall Bags Review

What a nice Sunday. So DH and I decided to have dinner out with longtime friends RG and CVG (RG: Dude, I still CANNOT believe you read my blog), whom we haven’t seen in a while. Blame it on my shameless socialclimbing at night, I couldn’t even set time to meet up with our old friends (snort, am I becoming a snooty bitch? *cough am I not already?!*Muwahaha hello behavior unbecoming!!).

We had dinner at Kaiseki at the Fort (food was good, but hey nothing beats Sushi Tsumura), then had a little apres-dinner treat at Cold Rock. UGH. And here I was complaining to BB that I was getting fat. Oh and to MissJK, our friendly pop mag editor-in-chief who noted that I “look like I lost some weight”– NOT ANYMORE girl! I cannot fit into that black dress I wore when I socialclimbed to “Imeldific” heights *har di har har*. And this damn hyperacidity is what brought about the eating monster in me *bawl*. Here’s the bad thing (and this is not the first time– last night I did it too). I had one Humongous scoop of macadamia nut ICE CREAM WITH 2 chocolate bars ground into it.

Tsk. This is getting a bit too depressing. A few weeks ago, I even bought gym gear and guess what, it’s still sitting in its plasticbag, unopened, let alone unused. I need inspiration. A serious one.

Anyway, let me just drop the weight subject for now. I need my picker-upper. It’s that time of the month (oh yes, PMSing time of the month too) again for a new bag review!

Bags all from Neimanmarcus.com and Saksfifthavenue.com

PRADA:

I am liking this brown calf Prada tote. Priced at US$1,250, the bag is made of leather and is much more worth paying for than a microfiber tote. The leather looks so soft and squishy, which is what drew me into this in the first place. I would love to see this bag up close. And I can’t wait!

A
ntic cervo hobo. Yet another bag from the same brand, this looks pretty interesting with this “antiquey” deerskin leather. I’ve always liked hobos, and this bag shows promise. Again, we will never really know what this bag would look like until it is physically in front of us. It’s not one of those “i love you before i have seen you” bags. But again like I said, this bag shows promise. Priced at US$1,490.

Indigo nylon and leather buckle tote. The color of this bag may have had a strong influence on me, as to why I would pick out this bag. The style is a classic– in fact, TRESOR had a bag in this exact style in tabacco leather (which has since been sold) *wink to buyer and seller hehe*. It was a bag that I actually wouldn’t have minded owning *but the fact that I am financially incapable of spending for a new bag makes me Mind owning it haha*. Priced at US$815.00.

GUCCI:

Brit zip-pockets medium shoulder bag. Oh.My.Gawd. What is THIS?! If you buy this, I guarantee 10 years down the road, your nieces/ daughters would see the bag and say, “eeew the bag is sooo ugly.” Wait, let me put it this way, if today, I can look at the bag and say it’s ugly, I can’t even fathom 10 years later that someone would actually say the bag is cute. No, no, no. And you pay US$1,790 to have some self-righteous baghag like me say “eew it’s ugly”? ok hags, you’re all smarter than that. Just give me the money and I’ll find you a better bag for people to ogle at. But NOT THIS BAG! *horrors*

Brit snakeskin patchwork bag. Ok, I was already cringing when I viewed the first few bags of Gucci fall collection, and this one stood out like a sore thumb (waiting to be chopped off!). How can a bag be so remarkably bugly? *Sorry Gucci lovers, but the truth I shall tell and expel hehe* This snakeskin patchwork is reminiscent of those ugly patchwork bags that you can get in Florence as souvenirs for your unsavory relatives *guffaw guffaw* (Ok I admit, I am being really mean hahaha– hello, I took my bitter pill today so there *evil sneer*) Hehehe… But seriously, I can’t think of paying US$3,290 for this bag. Can you??

Monogram Canvas large top handle “belt” bag. Now this is more like it. I like that this has that “belted” bag look. I am a sucker for bags with them belts (think Hermes birkin, steamer *with the exception of the gaudy leopard print LV*, Lanvin Kansas). And there’s that cute lock at the end of the “belt” 🙂 I like this. Priced at US$1,550.

Alrighty, that’s all for now, or my eyes will pop out 🙂 *And trust me, that can’t possibly be a pretty picture* Enjoy! And I hope you all have a good week ahead.

Monday blues, here I come!!! 😀

P.S. A quick holler out to LPT. Dang girl, I saw all those blings you have posted and I swear, it made my jaw permanently drop and lock.

P.P.S. MPR, thanks for the photos you took at the Bottega outlet and that fancy- looking limited ed. Bottega hobo. I will post those photos within the next few days if you don’t mind me sharing them with our bag hags 🙂

  1. Those Gucci bags are gorgeous compared to the 85th Anniversary collection for Gucci. The pictures are on the Gucci site, or go to thedailychronicleshow.blogsome.com

  2. Hi Mrs. T ! Yes please post all the photos! I might even be able to help one of the hags to buy the ones that are on sale!
