PFW: Vionnet SS 2012

While there was that rolling glass filter kind of drama that happened at Roland Mouret, another temperature- related drama happened to me at Viktor and Rolf *but let’s save that for tomorrow’s post*.

Made it to the Vionnet presentation yesterday after an incredibly loooooong walk to the venue! Thought I’d mention that it’s unbelievably HOT in Paris– we’re talking 30+ degreesC!!  Meanwhile exactly a year ago everyone was wearing fur. And today, all everyone wanted to be in was in shorts!!

Over at Vionnet, temperatures rose too as the Spring Summer 2012 collection was presented. I loved the styling of the collection. Seriously.  Here are some of my favorite looks:

The piping.

Voluminous– I think you have to be real tall to carry this look off.

The pinks and the blues

I’d love to wear this.

Topnotch styling on this total look. Florals, diagonal stripes, stand- out colors, the sparkles, and the fluo touch!

Amazing details. That rounded neck piping in fluo yellow makes the piece extra special.

This gown is exquisite!!! And that belt to break it up a bit.

Looking at the gown, I can’t help but remember Balenciaga circa 2008 was it?  Beautiful.
The first time I went to the Vionnet presentation, I fell in love with a lot of pieces. Little has changed since then. I still love the brand. Rodolfo Paglialunga is doing something right and I’m sure Madeleine Vionnet would approve!
