Paris: The Hermes Jypsiere Makes a Debut

While I was in Paris, the Hermes Jypsiere Messenger bag made its official debut 🙂 Here they are, proudly displayed at the Hermes flagship on St. Honore. There were only 1 of each at the time I went. The blue jean was their “model” bag, to show people how to “work” it. The other colors you see here are rouge H, tabac, and parchemin.

An hour or so later of seeing these bags, I went back to Hermes only to find that ALL have been sold. It was THAT fast. This came as no surprise to my SA, who said that the succeeding people who came in and saw the bag immediately whipped out their cards to pay for the bag– after seeing it on Harper’s Bazaar. I should note that the tabac was purchased by a guy 🙂 *The tabac was a size 37cm*

Anyway, thought I’d share photos of these bags. I took some photos of them when carried, so you can decide which size would be good for you.

The Blue Jean 34cm in clemence, silver hardware
And the Ebene 37cm in clemence, silver hardware
If you can find these bags at your neighborhood Hermes store, expect to pay over US$8,000 for them. Alas, these babies will not come cheap.

Two days after having visited H St. Honore, I checked the H George V store for these bags and they had NONE available.

AND lastly, here are the birkins that were shown to me by my SA. When my SA’s back was turned away, I took these photos *sneaky little twit! hehe*Box leather 35cm in black with gold hardware, and orange swift 35cm with silver hardware. Needless to say, I had to say no to these two since they weren’t the leathers I’d want for a 35cm birkin. I wouldn’t have minded swift in 30cm or on a lindy, but not on a 35cm workhorse birkin 🙂 Incidentally though, swift leather is a bit more expensive than togo or clemence!!

That’s it for now, I have to take a nap then go back and gather research materials for work. I slept at 5am last night! Ack!

Hope you peeps enjoyed this post! Oh and by the way, we found out why my internet’s so bad– it’s not the internet actually, it’s the actual PHONE LINE!!! So I can stop harping about globe DSL and begin harping about globelines hahaha.

P.S. Forgot to mention that Hermes now has a RAISIN colored Victoria!!! *faints* I saw it up close too. Loved it from the moment I laid eyes on her, but alas I couldn’t bring myself to buy the bag… I need to save for the “project” that will push through late this year (I will reveal it in due time 🙂

  1. Mrs T, can I ask how much the 35 black box leather 35cm was selling for.

And also have you had a long standing relationship with your SA? I’m going to Paris soon and would like to get my hands on one.

    Thanks.

    Gerry…keep up the good work!

  2. Oh Mrs. T! I want one of those jypsiere! Wonder which size is right for me? *sigh* Now I have two bags I am lusting for: Birkin and this… this will never end….

  3. Hi Mrs T, need your advise… I’m planning to buy a Chanel 2.55 – can you please let me know what the differences between the medium, large and jumbo are? Which is also better – lambskin or caviar? And what size do you recommend? Thanks, NC

  4. Black box leather birkin was something like EUR 5500. I forgot to write it down but it’s a figure close to that.

NC: go for the large. If you are petite, the large is good already. Jumbo is too big. I’d prefer caviar since it’s not as scratch resistant. Funny thing is, lambskin is more expensive.

rubyG: haha go get one already 😀

  5. I have a birkin 35 orange togo and it’s the most beautiful bag in town but yes 5.500. Next will be a kelly black box in 35 (I didn’t know if 35 or 32 but as I’m tall I rather 35) I must wait one yeat time so I must save another 5000..thanks god my boyfriend is esplendide..The birkin in 40 is impossible to wear..(many kilos)
