Thanks to the wonderful team behind Hogan, I got invited to the launch of the Hogan x Karl Lagerfeld collection last October 2.

There was a wall full of Karl x Hogan shoes (trainers).
And then there was this wedge- heeled lace-up cowboy boot.

There was a short film presentation by Karl Lagerfeld. After the presentation, he was mobbed by a throng of his friends and well- wishers. Photographers and picture- taking abound! He then proceeded to the press wall where he was interviewed by countless members of the press.

It was pretty surreal to see Karl Lagerfeld in real life. Call me shallow but I have to admit to counting this as one of the “highlights” of my trip. I didn’t introduce myself because 1. I was a nobody *and this was established a looong time ago*; 2. I was really too shy; 3. I was afraid of him — yes, afraid! ; 4. He was mobbed by tv cameras and photographers; 5. I was dressed down for the event, and I was genuinely embarrassed to even stand next to him to have photos taken (confession: everyone was so well- dressed that night. I, on the other hand, looked like I just got out of bed with my wrinkled coat and messy hair). So, I spared myself the embarrassment of getting turned away by his bodyguards 😀
*Sigh* In retrospect, I think anyone who was faced with Karl Lagerfeld would not have hesitated to have their photo taken with him. I mean, he’s Karl Lagerfeld! Who’d be stupid to hesitate, yes? *Ok, apart from me, obviously! Boo 🙁 *
Anyway, in this collection, I found the trainers with ankle straps most intriguing. I can’t wait to see this hit store shelves. Expect this collection to be a hit though! Hogan has been doing extremely well, so for this collaboration to happen, congratulations!!!
