Onto Florence for Ferragamo’s Palazzo

Before Milan Fashion Week began, I was brought to Florence by Ferragamo to see the Palazzo Spini Feroni, the Museo Ferragamo, and then most importantly, their factory. This was really one of the highlights of my trip.
From Milano Centrale,

took the train to Firenze. It was a 2 hour ride.

Was greeted by my personal driver, Leonardo, who took me directly to the Ferragamo headquarters. It felt really nice to go back to Florence and I really also wished I had more time to spend there. But I couldn’t, as the day after was the beginning of Milan Fashion Week.

Arriving at the Ferragamo building,

can’t believe I was here for my personal tour 🙂

Palazzo Spini Feroni is where the Ferragamo headquarters in Florence is located. It was a medieval palace and was purchased by Ferragamo in 1938 to also house his workshop. It’s interesting to note that this palazzo was built back in the 1200s and was even once the seat of the city council of Florence (when Florence was the capital of Italia).  The palazzo was restored some 10 years ago and now houses 17th and 18th century Florentine masterpieces which include magnificent frescoes by artist Bernardino Poccetti in the “hidden” chapel. Enjoy these photos:

This room is where the “workshop” was once housed.

Magnificent frescoes and tapestries!

The Chapel Room– the chapel is behind those doors

The chapel. Frescoes by Bernardino Poccetti. Soooo Beautiful!

More on Ferragamo in another post! I just got back and I need to rest!
