Of Showbiz, Metro, Peace, and More Bags + Tresor Update

Hellooo hags!

I went straight to bed the other night after a nice massage, hence the absence of a blog entry *ahhhhhhh* 😉 I don’t know what it was. Perhaps I was just really tired these last few days and my body finally had to give in to the marvels of early slumber. *think healthy lifestyle!*

Anyway, I totally forgot to mention about this the other day. My *far* brush with local celebrity. How do I know of him? Well his photos are everywhere– billboards, newsies, name it. So when this guy popped over Rockwell Powerplant Mall, thinking that this mall is the last place in Manila that he’ll get mobbed, how wrong he was. I was with my siblings at Pazzo when he passed by. And got mobbed– and I mean, mobbed. He must have been there in that area for a good ten minutes, while people swarmed him like bees. His name? Sam Milby. Is he cute? Yeah, cute, but you know me. It’ll have to take Keanu Reeves or Brandon Routh to get my butt out of my chair when I’m eating *hehehe shame on me!* So I just took the photo while in my seat, hence the hazy shot *sowwweee*.

Ok enough with showbiz. I have no aspirations to be part of that world, thank you (I can’t imagine how these people can take getting embroiled in nasty controversies– heck if that were me, I’d be wishing the ground will swallow me alive, geeez!). After all, as my baghag friend CL would tease me *to my glee*, I am but a large fruit fly 😀 (a pesky fly) *wink! muwahahaha in other words, “langaw“* (BB wink wink! LBM)

Eeeeenough! I’d rather be a hag of no substance and talk about bags *wooohooo!!* (which is really a far better allegation: Mrs.T is a ditz *muwahahaha but it’s true and I know it hehe*). So I was out with the gals from Metro yesterday Here are our bags 🙂 DaphP and MelC brought out their LV Speedy 30 bags, FionaL brought her Fendi Spy, and I took out my Lanvin Kansas. It was a “brown” bag day (*Snicker* I could’ve carried a brown paper bag instead and I *Still* would’ve blended with the bag palette *hehehe*) Ooh speaking of Metro, if you hags know anyone who’s worthy enough to become a model, have them apply at Metro’s top model search— they could become a “star”!

So anyway, new mom DaphP looks gorgeous and is back in fighting form (and I have NO idea how she pulled it off, but she looked amazing! When I was barely 1 month into post-pregnancy, I was just plain ugly *well, not like anything changed after anyway– I still AM ugly muwahahaha*) and she is already back on the tube, so don’t forget to watch her shows 🙂 Our other friend FionaL is leaving us for London soon, as she is furthering her studies in fashion design (focus is on SHOES! *woohoo!*). Strange enough, today’s news was riddled with stories on the thwarted terrorist plot to destroy transatlantic flights from the UK. It’s so sad. 🙁 But I’m glad the plan was disrupted and no one was hurt.

Sigh. You may be wondering, why do I still write about bags with all the horrible stories of poverty, famine, pestilence, war and bloodshed going on in the world. I empathize, believe me, I do. Especially when children (who are so innocent) are involved. 🙁 I only write about bags because this is probably only one of the few ways for me to “escape” (and for many of you hags) the daily bombardment of bad news and all things horrible that have been going on around us.

Onto more chipper chitchat.

I saw this bag on the Rampage boutique mannequin (at Alabang Town Center) and was immediately transported back to the bags that Coco and Tres made. Same material, except that this bag was in pewter. Nice color actually! Also in Rampage, were these fringe hobo bags which looked exactly like the boho suede hobo fringe bags of YSL.

I also went to the designer graveyard and didn’t really find anything of interest. I did see a reasonably priced bronze Tod’s mini charlotte media bag. The Charlotte media bag style is quite cute actually, with those itty bitty pockets on the sides.(photo of the Tod’s Charlotte bag from ebay seller konasesame— I love that aqua color and the bag’s price is pretty good at US$310!) I said reasonable for the mini charlotte at the graveyard because the bag was once priced at Php 47K++ and is now at Php 17,800 (60% off). But it is a rather small bag to carry and well, 17k is still 17k…

Here’s another bag from aloharag.com. Designer Alexis Hudson has bags like these that just look so similar to Mulberry Roxanne bags. I bet the bag is heavy with all that hardware. Priced at US$595, it’s not such a bad bag– nice color too. I love bags with exterior pockets, so this is quite acceptable to have. I also hope it’s not heavy like the Roxanne!

TRESOR MAKATI UPDATE!

I’m nearly done with my new TRESOR site. Much more uploading of new photos to do, but I’m getting the hang of Dreamweaver somehow. I need to iron out some more kinks and I’m grateful for your patience 🙂 Here’s another something from Gucci.

GUCCI Red monogram canvas hobo. In excellent condition, the bag shows no wear at all on its body– rated 9 out of 10. The exterior canvas and interior lining are both very clean. The rolled leather handle of the bag has some light scuff on the area where the handles meet the ruthenium hardware. Measures 10″L x 9″H (tallest point) x 3.5″W. The bag’s zipper is in excellent working condition as well. Comes with the original Gucci dustbag. TRESOR PRICE: Php 22,000.

LOUIS VUITTON Monogram Mini Josephine PM in Navy blue. Bag is in excellent condition. Measures 10.5″L x 7″H x 5″W. Corners have some very minimal scuff. Hardware has slightly “whitened” (oxidized but not tarnished). Interior lining is very clean. Leather trims have some scratches. Parts of the bag’s feet are still covered in plastic. This bag will come with original dustbag. Rating: 8.5 out of 10. TRESOR PRICE: Php 42,000.

It’s late already, I need to get some shuteye if I wish to break my weeklong sickness streak. And with that, I’d like to leave you all with this photo, sent by baghag Ms.KrG. She had come back from Hong Kong with THIS jawdropping and heartstopping bag. A large quilted 2.55 Chanel in light beige!! *Be still our hearts!!* (and NO, the bag is NOT for sale– KrG just got it!! I don’t think she’d want to sell this beauty! Heck, I wouldn’t!! *muwahahaha*)
