My Weekend + Oishi Smart C+ Drink

My stomach’s been going through a series of internal “wrestling” matches of late *boohoo*. It’s rather funny to envision me clutching my tummy as I make a mad dash to the loo countless times a day, (before you laugh at the thought, let me tell you this was not really the case– otherwise I’d probably be half- rejoicing because I’d have shed off some unwanted pounds hahaha). Under gastronomically normal circumstances, I can tell you that not being at my day job during regular work hours would’ve been how I’d want to spend the remaining days of the week (haha oh crap I just revealed myself as a lazy bum). But no, I would’ve rather been working overtime than having this strange stomach situation. Being at home and having to twist or turn *and make that sour “I’m-in-pain” face* every time my stomach would have these nasty cramps can be the pits!

I never stopped myself from eating any kind of food (much to the dismay of my family, friends, and regular twitter mates who’d tell me not to eat oily foods, anything with dairy, or eat anything that would trigger my acid reflux etc). You know me, I’m not exactly stoppable when it comes to food. *I actually exercise a lot of restraint when shopping, but I let go when it’s about food :D* I also held back on taking tummy meds because the pain is still faily manageable (I guess when you’ve already experienced 15 hour- long labor pains, tummy aches pale in comparison hence the higher tolerance haha).
I was also told to hydrate myself a lot, and here’s something about me that many people probably don’t know– I’m not really that fond of drinking water. It’s so bland 🙁  I know this isn’t a good thing, but I’d much rather drink juice over water. I used to drink iced tea all the time *even over juice!* before I ended up having hyper- acidity and acid reflux as a result– so there. I go for juice now. Fresh if possible.

It’s so timely that I was sent a box of Oishi Smart C+ drink (from Liwayway Marketing Group- the makers of my favorite, Marty’s Cracklings 😀 ).
Let me tell you now that I’m not too keen on sports drinks for rehydration (as I find them way too sweet), so when I tasted Smart C+ *I first had the Orange Crush*, I actually quite liked it– it was not as sweet as the others I’ve had, and actually tasted “fresh”. This is a big plus because I really don’t like the taste of artificial sweeteners on my juice. The best thing about this drink is, it contains a lot of vitamin C, which is pretty much what I also need (since I don’t take any Vit.C supplements). This afternoon, I had a bottle of Smart C+ orange crush with banana and I’ve really been fortunate that my tummy has since settled!  *beams proudly*

So, to Oishi Smart C+, thank you so much for the drinks. I’m happily enjoying them and it feels good to know that I’m also getting my Vitamin C through the juice. And more importantly, am happy to report that the juice has been replenishing my body with the lost fluids and has given me energy to play with my kids today. You’ve made me a happy Mommy! The kids love the drinks too, so we’re definitely stocking up on this drink in our household 🙂
On with regular bag blogging tomorrow 🙂

P.S. Just have to mention that my product posts are by no means copy-pasted from press releases unless labeled so. (I honestly barely ever go through press releases of anything I get sent, as products I write about are always based on my experience of having tried them.)
