My Daddy and the finer things in life

Like most peeps, I went to the cemetery last November 1 to see my dad. Sigh. To this day, I can’t help but feel sad when I think of how he has left the corporeal world. It’s safe to say that he had spoiled me *Ok, I’m really spoiled haha*. When other dads wouldn’t even know what souvenirs to buy their daughters, my dad bought me Sanrio toys, Esprit jean jackets and minis back when I was in 6th grade, and when Esprit was such a “happening” brand, purple Nike sneakers because he knew I loved the color purple, and the Andre Agassi Nike sneakers back when I was so into tennis because of Andre Agassi. He even bought me the Donnay tennis racket (Donnay was Andre’s sponsor back when he was starting out) *Haha I know, I’m pathetic for liking a sport because of a cute tennis player*.

As I grew older, he bought me a Prada bag from his Italy trip. I asked him even, “So how’d you know what to get in Italy?” All he said was “Prada is from Italy!” He was truly the coolest guy I’ve ever known and will ever know in my entire life. I miss him so much 🙁 *I can only wish that all fathers will be the same way to daughters, the way mine was to me– not because he bought me what I want, but because he had taken the time out to know what it is that I like. It’s really not about the material things– although that is a wonderful consolation :D*

So this post is dedicated to my Daddy because he is one of the very few men who truly appreciated the finer things in life, and more importantly, because he made me appreciate the finest thing in life– a good and solid familial relationship (don’t ever let money get in the way of a good relationship or it will go bust).

Prada drawstring leather tote. At a staggering US$2,850, this bag’s leather is as soft as melting butter. The smell is heavenly too. I love the ruching detail of the bag. It reminds me of a curled up sharpei. Miumiu came out with similar styles like this bag and I’m all for it. Available at Neiman Marcus.

Hogan guitar tote. I’ve never really been a Hogan fan– more a Tod’s actually. But with this bag, I did a double take. I have my reservations about carrying an animal-print bag, but would have no qualms carrying this tote. I like that only the strap has that funky print– and it’s detachable :). Add to the desirability of this bag is its embossed crocodile leather flap. Priced at US$1175 at Neiman.

Celine marple frame bag. I am having a bag affair with frame bags. This bag is no exception. Frame bags reminded us of our grannies’ bags (didn’t it?). My own grandmum used to carry frame bags, so it was easy for me to associate this style with her. Am I getting old or what? Why the sudden magnetic pull toward this style? Think of the Marc Jacobs Stam. Why did many hags fall in love with that bag? Insiders called it a granny bag. It had that nice “old” feel to it (old= comfortable). And that association with our grannies just gives you that warm feeling inside 🙂 *I hope I’m making some sense there!* Priced at US$1395, Neiman Marcus.

Alright hags, I apologize for cutting my post short, but I have work to do *woohoo, ME? WORK?!* You see, a really good friend of mine and I have decided to “put up” a PR/ media relations agency. And we have “bagged” *hehe love word* our 1st client 🙂 Sooooo, your baghag now has a dayjob 😀

I will reveal more details on that later, but if you do have a company and are planning to launch a product line, We could present our PR services for you. Promise I’ll divulge more details soon! *Thebaghag’s gotta work and make a living to buy a new bag.. No OCW life for me for now :D*

P.S. New Updates from TRESOR. Please check them out at www.tresormakati.com

P.P.S. I’m not being a bitch when I say this, but to the hags who’d like to ask me questions via SMS text, please please make sure to include your name. I like taking texts to a personal level and feel it’s really impersonal if I can’t “address” the person I’m texting with in a proper way. Truly appreciate it! Don’t forget, hags. Identify yourselves! 😀 Besides, I keep your identities secret anyway! 🙂
