MFW: Gucci Spring Summer 2012

I won’t get into the drama of mourning over my dead Mac anymore (I purged yesterday), so let me get right down to the biz of Milan Fashion Week!
It officially began with Gucci. And yes, I was actually on time for the show– a wee bit early in fact! *proud :)*

First Look!

Green, Gold, Black

The collection created by Frida Giannini for Spring/ Summer 2012 consisted of:

Printed soft jackets

Sleeveless dresses in black and white with touches of color

The clasp with green is a very nice touch

High waisted and pleated pants that unbutton from the ankle down to reveal black and gold column heels.

Fringe jacket in gold, white, and black.

Loose, low waisted dresses

Different animal prints integrated into one piece

Marine- inspired: I’m really liking this look, and the double- striped sides on the pants

Low- slung gold belts on dresses

More gold on cropped, fitted jackets– and did you see the tassel swinging from the clutch?

And for the evening, fully beaded and fringed flapper- style dresses. Very Chrysler Building, si?

The fringes dance to your every move

How sexy is the back?

The whole collection was art deco- inspired, and evening pieces were particularly strong. Good clutches with gold chain straps, and enamel accessories Loving the “shiny, shimmery” pieces!
Outside Gucci, I espied Anna dello Russo and Giovanna Battaglia. Guess who wore what?
Gorgeous python all the way!

P.S. Ok I am still very upset over the loss of my old Mac. I missed a show yesterday because of it! Major fail! 🙁 But today, I have 2 shows and a presentation to go to, and for sure I will not miss either anymore. The new laptop is up and running, thank goodness– but oh it’s quite hard to work with because the keyboard is not configured the same way *wails* and I’m not used to it yet. 🙁

And how was your day? 🙂
