Exciting News! Mary- Kate and Ashley Olsen’s The Row is launching an exclusive handbag line at Barneys New York!
It’s about time, actually 🙂 The bags have been designed with the same aesthetic that The Row has come to be known for– sleek and sophisticated, with that perfect marriage of old-world glamour and contemporary chic.
Here are three of my favorites from the collection:
I really find this basic black bag so appealing. And coming from me, this is pretty major. Because again, I am not a “black bag person” 🙂
Indeed, it has that old world glamour feel to it. I can already imagine Grace Kelly or Audrey Hepburn carrying this bag! I really appreciate the very strategic positioning of the gold hardware trims as well– they made the bag look very tasteful. I’m against seeing too much “metal” on leather bags, and on occasions even the slightest metal plate on a bag can already turn me off. Not this one. This gets my vote for being one of the most sophisticated medium- sized black bags this season. It’s simply beautiful!
This mixed exotics “camera” bag is rather unique and clever. *Take a closer look at the body of the bag :)*
It’s “two- faced” (haha, better a two-faced bag than a two- faced person, non? Haha). So for when you feel like carrying an ostrich bag, you turn the ostrich- face against your body 😉 Like I mentioned earlier, it’s really clever– it’s like having 2 exotic bags for the price of one 🙂 Plus this bag is really functional from the way it looks (aka the perfect bag companion for when you go shopping at Barneys :D). Imagine being able to wear the bag across your body (hello to hands- free shopping) plus being able to properly segregate your belongings in these two zip compartments– and remember which one went where!
Tsk. If only I could edit my bag daily, I would be carrying a clutch (to save my shoulders and back) and not a mansion- sized bag (also known as “brought my whole house with me”). I love having bright colored clutches. I almost invested in a bespoke one of late but held back. Because I realized that I find myself rummaging through my teeny tiny bag closet looking for a neutral- colored clutch that had some “oomph”, only to be disappointed and finding none when I sorely needed one (haha, I was always too cheap to invest in a good clutch- so there, the truth came tumbling out).
The Row is coming out with this anthracite- colored lizard clutch. I am now seriously contemplating on placing an order for this bag because I know I will find plenty of use for it. And surprisingly am loving the gold hardware on this! On gray clutches, I normally find them paired with silver/ palladium hardware. But wow, this gold “clasp” which holds the flap in its place really made the bag look so classy and elegant. This has to be my personal favorite among the three bags I have selected. Can’t wait to try this bag out in person!
These bags, along with a few others from The Row’s first bag collection, will be making their debut at Barneys New York “floors” this week. And it’s in the bag– the Olsens’ first collection will be a very successful one. I am seriously excited for this!! 🙂
