I’m a certified TV junkie/ couch potato!

The trouble about jet lag is this– I have it! And I don’t get to sleep until it’s past 7am. The worst thing about it is, I wake up past 2pm everyday! Which makes it pretty difficult to plan on activities because well, it’s kinda late!

You might find yourself wondering what on earth I do in the middle of the night (especially since I don’t have internet access). I don’t exactly lie down in bed and try getting sleep. That’s just next to impossible with this jet lag. (I think my jet lags are getting worse over the years… could this be an age thing again? Crap, it’s always an age thing. My body is slowly breaking down and it’s also due to age. Daaaaang… Show me the fountain of youth already!!! hahaha)

Anyway, this is what I’ve been doing the last few days of being in San Francisco– I watch TV. LOTS of it. To the point that I actually sent a message to Daphne to tell her I wanted us to produce a reality TV show. To which she said “Someone’s been watching a little too much TV haha”.

*Snicker*

To think back in the Philippines, I hardly ever watch TV. So what shows do I watch? I’ve been watching reruns of Roseanne. I was able to differentiate her pre-surgery and post- surgery looks by watching the Roseanne marathon *hahahaha*

And then I watch The Brady Bunch. I grew up watching The Brady Bunch. So it’s kinda cool. (And it also officially makes me a Dork hahaha)

I watched the news as well. Here’s something I noticed about Asians on news shows. Their hair… It’s always so…. big and fluffy!! *hehehehe the higher the hair, the closer to heaven hahahaha*

I remember watching Emerald Yeh on KRON 4 news nightly– I no longer see her on the news though. Wonder what happened to her. She had big hair too hehehe… I guess having more hair “volume” is a good thing when it comes to being on-cam. But I don’t see “big” hair among our local news reporters in Manila though…

A few mornings ago, this was what was also on the news– the storm that hit San Francisco (and left within the same day– that was really a fast one). There were places that were also flooded and places that were hit with mudslides.

And lastly, on the news, PUMPKINS! Yes folks, Halloween is just around the corner.

Here’s a mighty BIG pumpkin that was loaded (I think by forklift) on the back of the truck. Get a load of THAT!!
I wonder what these farmers put on the soil to get that pumpkin to grow THAT big?

(And as you can see from the bottom right corner of the photo, I took that shot at 4:57AM…) So now you know what I’ve been “busying” myself with while in San Francisco 🙂

  1. Is Mrs. T being nocturnal?? That is one heck of a pumpkin. I wonder how many low fat cream of pumpkin soup and Dreyer’s slow churned ice cream would it produce..

  2. My husband said the same thing about that ginormous pumpkin…kinda scary, if you think about it. I love watching old school sitcoms – The Brady Bunch, Laverne & Shirtely, Happy Days, What’s Happening, Leave it to Beaver. I remember Leave it to Beaver would come on at 8am with two episodes – back to back, then it would be Laverne & Shirley, followed by Happy Days. In the afternoon, around 1pm, Brady Bunch would come on and then around 2:30pm What’s Happening would come on. In between the shows, I would eat, play, talk on the phone, take a nap – it was a typical summer day for me…life was so simple back then….

  3. no shopping….? sayang ang sales and outlets…

anyway, speaking of newscaster hairdos… i like karen davila’s a lot.

  4. Hello, try Melatonin for your jetlag. It’s available at the drugstore in the vitamin aisle. I use it for my jetlag and it works great! Get the 3mg one. And follow the directions on the bottle. It’s all natural, unlike Simply Sleep or Unisom. 🙂
