Icons by an Icon… Tod’s + Guest Blogging!

It has been a crazy Tuesday. In the morning, my DK didn’t stop throwing up so I ended up sending the little one to the E.R. of Makati Med to help prevent dehydration– at least we’re at the hospital if that happens. Thank God the barfing episode stopped somehow and we’re back home. I just pray the little one won’t have another episode. It’s the stomach flu– it’s been going around so please be very careful (make sure to always wash your hands before you eat and perhaps every opportunity you get!!!).

Anyway, I’ve had so much drama today so I want to keep this post on the light side. Received this piece of news from Tod’s in the mail and thought I should share 🙂

Starting March 2010, Tod’s will celebrate its iconic styles in the top cities of the world (Milan, Paris, London, Munich, New York, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong) with an international exhibition of photos by renowned American photographer Elliott Erwitt. Featured are 40 black and white portraits of 22 cosmopolitan families who represent Tod’s contemporary elegance. Photos were shot in their homes in the US, in France, and in the UK.
One of my favorite images: The Cuomo family

I thoroughly enjoyed the photos of Icons by an Icon (Elliott Erwitt is an icon himself), because each photo painted a story about the joys of being together as a family. Some of the photos Elliott captured  perfectly portray the intimacy of relationships between family members, of how tight-knit they are. I thoroughly enjoyed looking through them 🙂

Tod’s is really a brand that a lot of celebrities and important people like, and like for a long time! Some of the “off- duty” celebrities photographed in Tod’s:

Carla Bruni- Sarkozy in Tod’s gommino loafers

Spain’s Crown Princess Letizia in the Gommino loafers

Jennifer Garner and her D bag

Julianne Moore and a D bag (I am digging her whole look here)

I’ve been a Tod’s shoe fan for quite some time now because the shoes are really extremely comfortable. My favorite pair which I often use because it’s very, very comfortable:

The Gommino is perfect for walking and for running errands 🙂

As for Tod’s bags, I am still in the process of thoroughly “exploring” them, but it’s safe to say that I really do like their timeless designs. They don’t scream with logos and are truly elegant, as exemplified by the “off- duty” actresses who chose to carry them in their everyday life.

I can’t wait to see what else Tod’s has in store for us all in the next season. For now, I think it’s time to pay Tod’s Greenbelt 4 another visit. Time to check on what shoes they have 🙂 *They do make perfect travel shoes :)*

And before I end this post, I just want to *proudly* share with you my guest post for a very famous food blog, “Table For Three, Please” 🙂 *yes! I can’t believe I was asked to write about food by a food writer on his famous food blog!!* So baghags and friends, please do visit Franco’s TABLE FOR THREE, PLEASE (http://www.tableforthreeplease.com) 😀 *beams*

  1. I read your article at TableforThree, and your food reviews made my mouth water… *grin*…

On a completely off topic, I was wondering, what are the chances that Cath Kidston bags will eventually be available at the Accessory Lab?
