Hong Kong Calling!

I almost didn’t make it to my flight to Hong Kong with my friend Daphne (daphneosena.livejournal.com) Nothing unusual about my almost not making it to my flight– I’m always notoriously late when it comes to going to the airport and always end up cutting it close. If you had been following me on twitter, you’d know that I ran to the check- in counter (and that run comes with music from Chariots of Fire :D). No amount running got me in time to check- into my flight. The check- in counter actually closed on me!!! *Screams*.
I thought this was the end of me– this was to be my painful lesson, that I should always arrive early for my flight. I prayed hard that I would be allowed to check- in still– because Daphne was already waiting for me inside the lounge! I was paralyzed with fear but crossed my fingers that I’d be given this one last chance *boy I prayed soooo hard!*.
Supervisor appeared from out of nowhere and gave the check- in counter associate the “go ahead” signal to let me check- in. Oh you peeps have no idea how many times I thanked the supervisor and the nice woman hahaha. I was thinking, hah, I’m in the clear!
And then came customs. There was this diminutive old lady who took my passport. I was in good spirits so I said “good morning” to her after I gave her my passport. Then she checks my boarding pass and gives me a dressing down! “Bakit ngayon ka lang papasok? Late ka na.” (Why are you just going through customs now? You’re already late). Too dumbfounded to speak, she proceeded to reprimand me for being late for my flight while her talking slowed down what she had intended to do– stamp my passport. I didn’t want to frown (after all, who wants to begin a trip with a frown?), but I was really stupefied 😀 I left little miss old lady to her mumbles as she instructed me to put my hand through the glass window to get my passport. (Rude old lady lol bye bye).
After going through the xray machine, I finally saw Daphne, *hehehe she heaved a sigh of relief hahaha*  🙂
And now, we’re both in Hong Kong after a wonderful day filled with food, walking, and then a meeting at the beautiful Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong (did you all know that Mandarin Oriental was the very first hotel erected in Hong Kong Island in 1963? We didn’t, but thanks to Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong’s social media manager, we do now 🙂 )
I didn’t take a lot of photos today because I had to charge my new camera *yes, I bought a new one, the Canon S95* (P.S. the prices went up because of the Japan’s difficulty to export parts at the moment). But here are 2 photos worth posting 🙂
DINNER!!

Swimming in cholesterol! But oh my goodness, this is SINFULLY GOOD!

Normally not a char sieu fan, but wow this does it for me!
ENJOY! I’m sleeping now. We have an early morning tomorrow before our lunch meeting (and the day gets busier after. Hopefully we can squeeze in some time to shop!!).
