“Haven’t You Heard of Zippers?”

Hehehe… let me tell you how my day went first before I delve into why the question on the title 😀

I saw top model and jewellery designer Girlie Benitez this afternoon, and I have never failed to notice that this 5’9″ lady is really even more beautiful in person (she’s gorgeous enough on photos, but in person, she is really a stunner).

She was wearing an all white ensemble- a relaxed white shirt, white shorts with a dark brown belt to break the whites nicely. She paired her outfit with a brown Gucci tote with top leather trim and “belt” in dark brown.

It happened that today, I also wore my favorite 3-(or maybe it’s 4) year old white shorts. I don’t have a lot of good white shorts. You see, I really don’t consider myself as a clotheshorse. I still see buying clothes as a chore, which is also why I hardly patronize local designers for custom- designed and made-to-fit clothes *of course unless they have ready-to-wear clothes*. It’s also because I don’t have the time to go to fittings. Sad, but true 🙁 *And I hope this will change very soon, because there are a lot of talented designers in the Philippines– I’m really missing out!*

Anyway as I was saying, I wore my very old white shorts today.

Hehehe…  I used to love tucking shirts into those white shorts… until the zipper broke. I never had it repaired…

Ok let me rephrase that. I actually repaired it on my own. Tied a ribbon to the base of the zipper hehehe.

Fine, laugh. (My shorts are wrinkled already, no, I didn’t go out of the house in wrinkled shorts. Tsk, come on, cut me some slack!) Hahahaha! I know, I know. Haven’t I heard of zippers being replaced before? No I haven’t. Sure I have! I just never got around to getting it fixed. *Sheepish grin hehe*

Then again, my friends just said I should retire this pair of shorts already hahaha. I know they look pretty pathetic already, but like a very old blanket or an old couch, I love it! 😀 But yeah, I guess it IS time to buy a new pair of shorts. Or then again I can just have this repaired (unless it’ll be more expensive to have the zipper repaired than to buy a new pair. *Snort, cheapskate!*)

Oh, and speaking of zippers, did you peeps know that Hermes was the first to utilize zippers as enclosures on bags?  The bag was then called a Bugatti, (later renamed to Bolide 1923).

The Bolide 1923 has shorter handles than the regular Bolide, but this bag has an exterior pocket which is perfect for your passport or keys. By the way, the color of this bag is Blue Paon– fairly close in color to Lagoon. And I think she is gorgeous!!!

Anyway, hope you peeps had a good one today! My visit to the pulmonologist today only resulted in one thing– a prescription for anti-biotics. Hopefully after a day or two of that, I’ll stop coughing like a barking-mad dog *by the way, I’m not contagious. Just in case you thought about avoiding me like I have the plague or something hahaha* 🙂

  1. I admire people who can wear white on white! I have a handful (very few) white clothes. I can never take care of light-colored ones, let alone whites. I am like a li’l child. I cannot eat spaghetti or anything saucy without having any “accidents” so I always prefer a dark-colored ensemble. BTW, that Bolide looks yummy!!!

  2. love this post! i have favorite pieces of clothing too that are hundred years old lol looking forward to your future posts

  3. I love your Hello Kitty watch. I used to have one when I was young. You can’t find those anymore. I wish I still had mine so I can give it to my daughter who’s all about Hello Kitty these days. Darn it, now, I’m going to have to go on Ebay and most likely pay a grip. Haay…

  4. I have this theory.
