Hats Off

When I first tried on hats at Bon Marché, I didn’t realize how that little event (where I had Me photographed trying on different hats) would bring out my love of hats. Love them but I knew I’d never have the guts to wear them out. Alas, when it comes to “fashion”, I am not one to experiment (in other words, I am a VERY boring “dresser”). I also knew I’d look ridiculous in hats. It was on that fateful trip to Paris when I tried on those astronomically- priced Philip Treacy hats that I realized, whether I looked silly or not, I had a lot of fun wearing them. I think that’s what it’s all about at the end of the day, right? Having fun, and being happy (at your own expense, of course).
*Sigh* If we had a fashionable “day at the Races” a la Royal Ascot here.

I would’ve bought a hat. A fascinator. Some kind of hair ornament! And then I will just need to find the right outfit for it. Hmm perhaps wear a suit with it a la Kate Middleton Just look at her. She makes the hat look fantastic! I wish I could carry it off like she did 🙂
