Happy Birthday to Me… in Advance :)

Yes, my birthday isn’t until June. But waaa, I can’t resist not revealing “her” early! You  all know what a braggart I can be, and if I didn’t reveal, that would be behavior unbecoming of a braggart *hahaha* ! Ok on a more *ahem* serious note, this is my birthday pressie to me. I was so depressed about turning a year older (Gawd, “mid thirties” after my birthday) that I felt I should commemorate my “early thirties” with something. So there. (ok, I know, lame excuse, but oye, it’s still an excuse– it’s my birthdayyyy 😀 soon haha)

Now, this would be my last reveal of this calibre. Because quite frankly, this really left my wallet grasping for air *and for money hahaha*. Honestly, I don’t know what came over me when I purchased this, because I really hardly carry Hermes birkins and kellys of late, and well, to get an Hermes crocodile kelly was just… insanely over the top! *no, I’m not regretting it (yet), but my wallet sure is wishing this purchase didn’t have to happen! hahaha*

So here she is, the very reason why I have more free airline miles *hahaha*

Hermes Porosus Crocodile 32cm Sellier Kelly with gold hardware in Bleu Roi

In the next few weeks, expect a few bags to go to the Tresorie sale *soon*– and yes, those bags that will be sold are mine hahaha *I need to pay for this baby!* Oye, I have to be economical about this. It’s not like I have a money tree or anything! *I wish!!*

On a serious note, I feel embarrassed to carry this bag– because if I do carry this bag, people would already know that there isn’t anything valuable inside it (i.e. no money in my wallet) hahaha. So if I were to carry this bag, I better make sure that my dinner is already paid for and that I have already secured a ride home after *hahahaha* (Gawd, I really don’t know when I will carry this bag out. We’ll see!)
How about you, peeps? Have you been good lately? 🙂 *Innocent smile, then wide grin :D*

  1. Hi Mrs. T.!

    Advance Happy Birthday to you and me! My birthday is this month, in about 26 days. I also got a pressie for myself, courtesy of my dear hubby’s wallet (haha)…although, I’m counting that as a mother’s day gift. Birthdays should be separate! I got me a LV bag in epi leather. My mother’s day gift is way more “economical” than your advance b-day present–but only because I want 2 more bags before the year ends (yikes)! I’m going home to Manila for vacay in December and I would love to drop by your boutique and hopefully say “hi” to you in person. 🙂

  2. OH WOW! Congrats big time! It’s gorgeous and such an excellent choice on the color. The gold hardware enhances the overall color and the croc leather. Hot!

  3. @Missy: thanks girl 🙂 xx

    @A Loopy Life: Thank you 🙂 Big bang mid 30s coming up soon *waaaa*

    @Chappoi: Thank you 🙂

    @deluxeduck: bastos is the RIGHT word hahaha. “Holy guacamole with beans and tortillas!”

    @The Style Hive: Thank you 🙂 This is “IT” for me. I doubt if I’ll ever cross over to croc birkin territory. Again, maybe on my 60th hahaha

    @malou: Thank you 🙂

    @May-Hem: YES! I want to meet you!! And congratulations to you too! Happy birthday in advance as well 😀 We’re both Geminis 😀 😀 😀 You know what they say about geminis? Hahahaha we’re smart *hahaha I will not betray my own kind hahahahah*

    @Anonymous: Let’s not mention damage. Bottom line is, I really have to hold back on purchases. This was the most major of them all and I don’t think I can handle any more. *Sob*… (Oh and in case my other ‘reader’ is reading this– this is NOT false humility! Gawd hahaha)

    @freshmess: glad you like it 🙂 I will have to rely on sponsors *ahem airline miles* to fly me out again this year. Tsk. So much for a new orchid hahaha 😉 *oh my friend promised to buy me one, my choice, for my birthday :D*

  4. It’s funny (and unsurprising… somehow I expected it too) how a reveal like this one would create a backlash– well, one particular comment which I did not publish simply because the very comment mentioned a name *someone I know*. So here goes my reply: Dear anonymous writer, that was hilarious because contrary to what you think, I don’t take happy pills to make myself feel better. Nor do I buy my happiness *haha no thanks!* For one, I’m not a “poor little rich girl”. I am perfectly happy with my life, with or without the bag, thank you :D. The bag’s a nice bonus! *woohoo!!* And wow, to call me a rich girl? This is another wonderful bonus, a compliment– hahaha, thank you for thinking that *muwahahaha*. Two, I don’t apologize for the things I buy because I worked my a$$ off for them. They were not handed over to me on a plate. My priorities are in high likelihood, not the same as yours, hence your question of why I even buy what I bought (and I did question that in my post, but again, this was MY big bang mid-30s gift to me– why should YOU question it since I don’t recall receiving money from YOU hahahahaha). AND YES the purchase left a big dent in MY pocket, and that’s MY pocket, not yours nor the country’s. I don’t steal money to buy what I like, so whatever I buy is really mine to enjoy. I get freebies from the family from time to time, but why should I be apologetic for it? If anything, I am GRATEFUL. ALWAYS grateful. Now, sistah, if you can’t find it in any part of your body to be happy for people who get the things they want, then I suggest you go watch a movie. Try Iron Man 2. It’s an awesome flick! Or you can always take a chill pill. 🙂

  5. Hi Mrs. T! The bag is so gorgeous!! If you don’t mind me asking, did you buy this from Paris? My Mom and I are looking for a Croc Kelly but do not know where to buy. Can you please give me tips on buying a Croc Kelly/Birkin? We would truly appreciate it. thanks! advance happy birthday and i wish you all the best! 😀

  6. Dear Mrs. T,

    Congratulations on your new baby! 😀 Wow talaga!

    As for the nega comment– that’s just so sad. Some people just can’t take other people’s happiness so easily. Hello, green eyed monster!

    I like your reply– I agree when you said why should you be apologetic? You didn’t steal for it!

    You deserve a birthday gift as special as that! Like Oprah said, we all have our own choice of “drug”: mine’s shoes! Others can be sleep or food… And hers (the nega commenter) is definitely, SOUR grapes. Mwahaha!

  7. People like that are just jealous! Hay di talaga nawawala ang “crab mentality” sa ibang tao. You have all the right to brag what you have. Hay naku ako nga when i got my first LV talagang post ko ung pics. Hahahhaha. We worked hard so that we can buy the things that we want. Im so happy for you! 🙂 Congrats and advance Happy Bday! -joy m

    DocD

  9. Mrs. T,

    Tell Ms. Anonymous that it is your blog and if she doest want what you are writing here there are so many blogs that she can visit.

    Anyway, happy birthday in advance. Hermes is beyond beyond my budget but we can live through you ;-p

    enjoy

  10. Haha! Looks like someone left a nasty comment on your blog which reminded me of a reply chuvaness had before in defense to expensive bag purchases. It’s funny indeed how people make a judgment on that. Can we not just let others enjoy what they like in life without checking on the monetary value? I know other persons would spend all their money on having beautiful houses but not bothering to leave the country to travel when they can even afford it while others would prefer just a decent home and spend a fortune on traveling the world. It’s just a matter of choice, right? I have never purchased an expensive bag but I dream of owning one. (Well expensive for me, is not as expensive as yours. Heheh!) Can’t afford that. Maybe this year, just like you, before I turn in my mid-30s. LOL. Would you give me a big discount if I buy it from your boutique? Hehe! Just wishing. Advance happy birthday, Mrs. T. 😀

  11. im sooo happy for your latest bag purchase! it does not hurt to give yourself a gift once in a while plus you deserve it! as what you have posted before thru twitter: you need not explain anything to anyone. you don’t owe them anything. You deserve every bit of happiness may it be a thing or affection. Stay happy and god bless 🙂 – sophie

  12. it’s beautiful and in blue too, my favorite color! love it 🙂 advanced happy birthday (and mother’s day!)

  13. You are absolutely right! No need to apologize for things you receive as a gift from a family member or those that you buy with your own money!

  14. happy birthday!!!!!!!!!! i am in love!!!!!!!!!!

    YOU DESERVE IT!!!!!!! miss u!!!!!

    ~ paz

  15. Hi Mrs. T,
    Congratulations on your newest purchase! Hope you continue to enjoy this blessing! Have a happy brithday!

    PS: Croc Birkin next June? 😉 hahahaha! 🙂

  16. Hi Mrs. T!

    That anonymous commentor is just envy of you. You worked hard, you deserve a treat! Don’t we all like to reward ourselves with something nice? 😉 Life is short after all.

    Congrats on your new purchase! Lovely lovely bag! Congrats on your Alexa bag too! 😀 Advance Happy Birthday, Mrs T! I’ve been a very good girl. I’m saving up for the little one growing inside me. 😀

    Have a great week, Mrs. T!

  18. Happy Birthday! I love it!!! How ever you choose to spend your money is your business and not anyone else’s 😉 Whoever that hater is, go rain on someone else’s parade…party pooper!

  19. Your blog is one of my guilty pleasures.It makes me live vicariously through your fab life of designer bags and luxe travels. People should read your posts and enjoy it and not create negative perceptions about you based on your you spend your money.You have every right to feel proud of your latest Hermes baby. You have something others can only dream of owning. It is good that you are grounded in your principles-that owning luxurious things are merely a bonus to an already happy existence. Money definitely doesn’t make people happy but it afford us access to material compensations for our hard work. Go gir! No apologies to your detractor/s. You didn’t beg nor steal the funds that pays for your lifestyle. I truly understand the thing about just being grateful for blessings ( freebies ) we get from our families. Live your life to the fullest. La dolce vita. Take care and God bless.

  20. Hello Mrs. T,

    want you to know that I am a big fan of yours.

    Reading your blog everyday makes me happy..really.

    I love your writing skills as well as your humility.

    Thanks for letting us, ordinary people, to experience “high life” through your blog..

    Hope to visit your store (need to save a lot)and buy my very first LV there and meet you personally.

    Advance happy birthday!!!!

  21. at least you DO sound quite humble and down-to-earth even while revealing your purchases… i have friends who actually BRAG outwardly about their bags and how they were able to get their husbands to pay for everything… it drives me crazy. in your case, we readers have always known that you are an independent woman who finds ways herself to buy these things.

    and by the way, i was surprised to see ‘bagaholicboy’ up there in the comments. wow talk about cool!! i’ve been a reader of his blog for a loooong time now. 🙂

  22. Congrats on your new bag! haha I can’t have one for my birthday… I wish I can afford one lol My DH would kill me lol
    xoxo

  23. I found it funnier that person referred me as another “Poor little rich girl” hahahaha. But thing is, I can’t really be called “RICH” compared to that other person that writer mentioned, and well, I can’t exactly be called Poor either in the sense that I am happy, hence my emotional health isn’t poor 😀 I certainly am not little (heck, mid 30s and 5’8″ tall ain’t exactly called “little”), Girl, yes, ok I’ll take that 🙂 LOL

    @Bagteria: LOL don’t worry about bagteria because that floor gets a thorough cleaning (with cleaning solutions to boot) before I lay bags down 🙂 that floor area is probably even much cleaner and more disinfected than the sofas or chairs where people put their bags 🙂 Seriously 🙂

    @MrsM: LOL LOL 🙂

    @ANon: Thank you for that, it means a lot to me to hear someone say they don’t mind my crazy reveals and that it somehow entertains them 🙂 And thanks for complimenting me on my writing skills (or lack thereof haha *hence the lurking grammar nazi*)

    @browneyedgirl: yay! Im a fan of bagaholic boy too 🙂 And yeah, well I certainly never asked DH to pay for my bags LOL I wish, but i think to an extent too, it’s quite empowering to have full control of your own money and where you spend it 🙂 So it’s not bad at all 😀 But then I do wish he can pay for them too at times hahahaha!

    @Anon re: LA Dolce Vita: I am with you there too, all the way 🙂 xx

    @MBL: yay on that 🙂

    @May-Hem: Yay!!!

    @freshmess: Yes! I will send photos 🙂 🙂

    Peeps I will continue to answer the comments in a bit 🙂 xx

  24. Truly stunning !!! Worth much more even with empty wallet hahahaha ! Congratulations !

  25. Dear Mrs. T,

    A big congratulations.

    Now this bag is officially anointed as the “ms. famous”. heheh

    Heck, they you don’t owe them anything–so ignore. In fact, they are not the ones who will receive the bill by the end of the month, so chillax, right?

    Some people are just really too jealous.

    Friends should be happy for their friend’s success, that is if they are ‘true friends’.

    basta po, happy birthday, happy mother’s day, happy blogger’s day, happy earth day, happy election day! isama na lahat basta happy!

  26. happy birthday (in advance?)

    you do not have to explain yourself to that “joy buster” who was too cowardly to reveal herself/himself to you. she/he should have the guts to reveal his name when criticizing… in helping other people, it doesn’t mean that you should deprive yourself!! you did not beg, steal, or become a kept woman just to acquire “the” bag, he he
