Greenbelt 4 and the ongoing sale…

*Scream* What is wrong with my eye!?!?! I feel like there’s a pimple growth there (EEEW) but I don’t see anything! Oh geez, why oh why am I riddled with such ails?! First it was my incessant coughing, then it was the chronic sore throat, and then there were the canker sores (EEEW again). And now, what, a phantom stye (yes it’s phantom because I don’t see it anywhere but I can feel the damn sucker!).

UGH. What a way to end the week. Tsk, I realize perhaps this could very well be the result of torturous weeks without a new bag aka withdrawal *muwahaha what a sordid excuse*. I passed by Greenbelt 4 yesterday and the day before to bring my few- months old multicolore wapity back to Louis Vuitton (see the corner florets of the wapity). You see, the colorful prints on the wapity rubbed off. Yep, rubbed off. And LV has told me it is a defective piece which they will gladly replace (apparently this happens a lot with the multicolore line, which basically killed my “want” for the MC trouville hehehe oh goodie). So today, I went there again to get the regular monogram canvas wapity and get credit for remaining amount. The wapity has become the permanent home of my camera. In fact, now that I think of it, the wapity is the only actual LV piece that I use daily!

I also decided to meet up with CL, my baghagging legal eagle friend whom I have “known” for a year already. We finally meet up! YAY! And so did our bags 😀(CL’s LV mandarin epi Alma looks soo yummy! And I brought my old Balenciaga apple green city– what nice contrast :D)

So while we were at Greenbelt4, we walked around (natch). Bottega Veneta still has that lemon yellow intrecciato hobo (ugh why can’t anyone just buy that!). YSL no longer has the pewter Muse though. Meanwhile over at Gucci, they have that pink monogram cabas tote with charms and the stripes on each strap side (the smaller tote) at Php 27,000 (US$515+). Not bad too. I love that pink bag as well, but I just hate knowing that I can get that bag dirty and that would be the end of the bag.

Quick holler to my good friend and baghag, KO from New Jersey: Oyyye girl! We miss you and we were talking about how we can all go “shop” together in Manila while CL is at work 🙂 Hope you are better. Email me dear, I miss chatting with you!!

Ok. And then, we went to Prada. I was telling CL that I saw a plum colored microfiber messenger bag (same style as the photo below) with exterior pockets that I was leaning toward getting (and breaking my word with DH *shock*). It was priced at Php 24,000 (US$457), down from Php31K.(photo credit: neimanmarcus.com). This would have been a good lightweight bag to use for travel. There are two interior pockets once you open the flap, and this would be good to store the passports without having to rummage through the main compartment of the bag. When we got there, I asked SA Julie where the bag went. Oh shucks what luck, right? IT GOT SOLD ALREADY just this afternoon!!! (Lucky hag who bought that bag, if you are reading my blog, TELL ME that you are the one who got it *hehehe*)

Another bag is a brown canvas bowler with orange leather trims. The bag used to be about Php 65,000 (US$1238+) , and is now just Php 31,750 (US$610+)! I just noticed though that there was a little nick (glue from the strap of the bag) by the base of the strap and a little discoloration at the bottom of the bag, right behind the straps. CL tells me, “if you ain’t gonna keep it forever, don’t get it.” See, she knows how anal I can be with these little dinks 😀 But hey, for that price, it ain’t so bad already. It’s 50% off!

I also mentioned about the Prada gray satin clutch/shoulder bag that I saw during the pre-sale on June 30. I ask the SA about it, coz I really wished CL saw it. I didn’t really know how much it cost, because since it had a crystal- studded buckle, I figured maybe after sale, it would cost what, 20K? Imagine my jaw dropping when SA Julie said, “That bag cost 11K after discount.” Then she proceeded to say, “Let me check in the back if the bag is still there.” I couldn’t move. It was all a blur. I remember just blabbing about I-don’t-know-what to CL *guffaw, boy you should’ve seen CL laughing at me hehehe*. Yes yes, I was giddy with excitement. A “couture” Prada bag with crystals for 11K?! So when she brought it out, she said “Oh, the bag was originally Php 47,000 (US$895).” I was floored. The bag was already 75% off! (and FYI: This bag is NOT for sale. Some hags asked me to sell them this bag for the price I bought it for. HELLO I just got it?! Sheeeesh let thebaghag enjoy the bag, darnit!!! Muwahaha (bitchin!!)*

Oh hags, this just keeps getting better, I swear. Julie says “Cash price is Php 9,400“. I nearly fainted! GEEZ the price is too good to be true! The clutch is even cheaper than the wallets on sale! And this is a Prada COUTURE bag already. All the crystals are in place, NOTHING missing. The only flaw is a tiny penmark on the inside of the bag. And I can forget being anal about that mark. For bag’s sake, the bag’s just Php 9,400 (US$179)!! What right do I have to complain?! *thwap myself* The bag is friggin’ 80% off original price!!! And if you hags don’t believe that the bag was really cheap, here’s the receipt to prove it! It’s really 80% off! *and sadly hags, it IS the last piece :-(*

I broke the my purse ban (daaaang). And of course DH found out about the purchase later, but this offense, according to him, is forgivable *muwahaha*. After all, I spent less than 10K (on bags) for the whole month 😀 *Cough obedient girl*

So anyway, baghag and I walked around the expanse of that mall for a good hour but we skipped stores like Charriol, Boss, Bally, DKNY, Tod’s, Burberry. We also went into Bulgari where I tried on a pretty pair of earrings. Price tag: Php 300,000+ Tsk. Nice on the ears, but that’s all it’ll be. I can’t walk out of the store with it. *Pray tell where do we get money to foot the earrings bill????* CL— it’s your turn!! Your DH is so nice and generous, I’m sure you will get them 🙂 hehe *nudge nudge*

The one good thing (of course, apart from meeting CL finally!) about this afternoon is, that we are more driven to work harder to be able to afford a small piece of luxury that could send us into a dizzying spiral. Forget the Bulgari uber- expensive diamonds. A new designer bag is the 21st century “drug” of choice for us baghags. 🙂

P.P.S. I am posting more photos of the Hermes 32cm Dark Blue Kelly for you hags (I got 7 emails asking for the same thing! haha ok so here!). Anyway, some of you also asked what is the true color of the bag. It is NOT gray. It probably looked grayish in the photo, but it certainly isn’t gray. It is dark blue– and is perfect to wear with jeans, or paired up with a suit.
