Goodbye to the Crocodile Hunter + TRESOR

I was extremely shocked when DH told me that Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter, got killed when a stingray barb punctured his left chest while he was filming underwater off the coast of Queensland, Australia. How could this seemingly invincible man who had wrestled huge crocs and played with poisonous snakes (and getting bitten as a result) just die? I was really stunned. I have been a huge fan of Steve Irwin since 1994, when I first saw him on the telly. In a way, I saw him as someone I would have wanted to be– not to be a croc hunter of course, but to be a person who lives to work (rather than someone who works to live). He worked with animals with such passion, such life, and such gusto, that it is actually hard to imagine calling his work, “work”. I am really saddened. And I know I’m such a hypocrite by loving croc bags and loving Steve Irwin (who is a nature/ animal conservationist), but today, I am glad that I did not buy that Hermes JPG croc birkin (well, I don’t have the money for it, but even if I do have the money to pay for it, I would not have bought it now) What an enviable life he lived. He died doing what he loved doing best… He will really be sorely missed. Please pray for his soul… (photo credit: letmestayforaday.com)

What a sad day it is. Anyway to brighten things up a bit, let me tell you about my boring day *hehe.. talk about using the wrong words… brighten things up with my boring day.. right.*

I passed by Jupiter Street and pulled up to the Doña Consolacion Bldg– the building that houses Nullah, Fibre, and AbFit among other boutiques. I passed by AbFit and saw these bags. These bags (the orange on the right, and the brown bag on the left) are by Chat Chat and are if I’m not mistaken, from Hong Kong. They are priced at Php 6,250 a pop and are so roomy and easy to use. They have a separate bottom compartment to house all your cosmetics and girly thingies and other what-have-yous. I think it’s a pretty worthy purchase at that price.

And how the heck do I know anyway? Because I have one 🙂 DM bought one for me on her last trip. And I have enjoyed using it (coz I just have soo much junk to fill this bag!) It makes for a nice, nondescript schlepping bag (you can let your Chanels and LVs and Goyards rest for a day or two :D)

SALE ALERT: Speaking of AbFit, There will be a big big sale at the Nullah Bldg (Doña Consolacion Bldg is the real name hehee) 122 Jupiter Street, Makati from September 15-16 only. Boutiques there like AbFit (selling designer jeans and those Chat Chat bags), Fibre (awesome clothes from our country’s top designers! You can’t not walk out of the store empty handed!), Sy-Kat couture, Shoe-bi-do (shoes!), Tilka (knick knacks from Turkey and India), and other stores. It is incidentally also where RAAN is– Raan has the best thai iced tea in this side of Makati 😀

TRESOR MAKATI

Here’s another new CHANEL bag. This sporty fabric cubicle bag is perfect for toting. It’s lightweight, and the color is just so striking! Measuring approximately 18″L x 10″H x 5″W (expandable), the bag has adjustable straps and a net drawstring as enclosure. There are some faint dirt marks on one side of the bag, but the bag is in overall excellent condition. I’d rate it an 8.5/10. The bag will come with the Chanel tag (which is still attached to the interior of the bag), as well as the dustbag and its Chanel box. TRESOR PRICE: Php 32,000.

Night hags. I’m drained. I’m gonna watch a bit more of CNN on the legacy of Steve Irwin. Boy, we miss watching him already 🙁

P.S. A comment poster was asking about whether there is Goyard in Singapore– the answer is, there is none. 🙂
