Food Porn: Pinotxo Bar, Barcelona

I must interrupt my Luisa Via Roma post with some serious food photos. I will resume my Luisa Via Roma posts tomorrow. But today, the post will have to be dedicated to food. 🙂
When in Barcelona, you cannot not go to Mercat La Boqueria in La Rambla (that merits a separate post on its own). Because just off the mouth of the market, is Pinotxo Bar. Tony Bourdain, thank you for introducing this place. It’s by far one of the best places I’ve eaten in at Barcelona!

Without further ado, Pinotxo Bar.

The most accommodating chef- owner, Albert Asin.

He kept insisting we get our last two dishes for free. And I will tell you a little more about those last 2 dishes after I present the first few dishes.

Croquetas. Muy delicioso!

Venison kebab. This was one of the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly grilled and doused with olive oil, served with a bed of salad with balsamic- olive oil. It was fantastic!!

There was also callos, but we didn’t get a chance to have this as immediately after I saw this dish, someone snapped it up 🙁 I also didn’t get a chance to have the entrecote because again, a couple got the last piece!

As a result, Albert gave us these two dishes, on him. Veal cheeks cooked with pine nuts, grapes, with the sauce likened to that of the callos dish that we all know. This was most unusual, and honestly nothing like what I have tasted in the past. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth good!!

This was his other version, served differently. Essentially the same meat, prepared differently. This was a completely different taste and is likewise memorable, as it was excellent!
I am getting hungry from looking at these photos. I think I shall go have my breakfast early today 🙂
Tomorrow, I resume my post of Florence, Firenze4Ever and LuisaViaRoma.

Adios for now and enjoy the food photos!
