Food Blog: Smith and Wollensky, New York

A weekend interruption– let’s talk food. I still have so much of New York to write about, so let me continue the NY series with food 🙂

Yes, the restaurant was briefly featured on The Devil Wears Prada.

During lunch hour in NYC, we ended up on Smith and Wollensky with CV Travel’s sister Bing, who works for the U.N. And yes, I wanted some of that steak that was famously thrown into the kitchen sink on celluloid…  I wanted a new steak  hahaha, not the one Andy threw away 😀

Architecture is unmistakably Smith and Wollensky. They have a few branches across America. One of them I saw in Vegas. Of course, when you’re in Vegas, you’d rather hit the buffet… (and that would merit another food post on its own… but alas I didn’t take photos of the buffet. Was too hungry to bother, you see. :D)

I went straight for the Prime Rib. I can’t stand not having steak if I’m in the U.S. (Sorry, meatlover here)

(And I need to enlarge this steak just to show you peeps how goooood it was– it tasted as good as it looked)

Oh did I mention that it was a 28 ounce steak which I finished? *gulp*

For dessert, we were offered profiteroles

And berries. So tempted…. (because I looove fresh berries and we don’t have this in the Philippines)

But in the end, we went for this

Our really wonderful server who kept us laughing half the time we were eating!

To top the most wonderful service, we were given a slice of cheesecake, on the house!

Thank you so much, Bing for hosting our delicious lunch!

If you’re a prime rib lover, I think you’ll enjoy Smith and Wollensky like I did 🙂
