Firenze4Ever: Madonna Concert!

Goodness I nearly missed the private van to our concert venue because 1. I was a little late in the first place to get to our meeting point, and 2. when I got to the meeting point, the crazy mob of Madonna fans who were waiting outside Luisa wouldn’t let me through!! I had to almost fight tooth and nail just to get myself back into the store and when I finally get in, a member of the security team told me the van to Madonna is just leaving. After a call, I made it onto the van which was just about to drive off (OMG right?!).
So, When we get to the stadium, we were the early birds 🙂 WoooHoooo! And THANK YOU LUISAVIAROMA for the Madonna ticket. We were SO incredibly close to the stage!!! Here’s a souvenir shot of the Luisa bloggers from the world over 🙂
With Andy (@stylescrapbook), *yay, reunited!*, Wendy (@wendylookbook), and Aimee (@aimeesong)
Reunited with Catherine and Tina ! The old cannoli gang from Milano. We miss you, Bryanboy!

My Madonna savior, Cami 😀

Cammmiiiiii!!!
And after an hour or so of dancing to the songs spun by DJ Martin Solveig, Madonna, the Queen comes out 😀 The main stage is farther back, but there was a ramp and we were practically by it. I was telling the girls, “OMG so do we get to see Madonna’s muscles and haha, pores? :D”
Opening act
The visuals were incredible.
Madonnnnaaaaa!!!!
She sang “Express Yourself” and sang bits of “born this way” which sounded like Gaga’s and then made some comments directed at Gaga (Express Yourself sounds very much like Born This Way)! Yep, there can only be ONE queen– and that’s Madonna 😀

She sang Like a Virgin as well– it was a tad painful to watch because she was literally being squeezed into her corset as this man below was pulling the laces from behind. Look at how tiny her waist had become!

More shots of her when she danced/ walked and stayed on the ramp

VOGUE!

In Gaultier?

Do you see Rocco (2nd from the right)? He danced with Madonna! How awesome was it to see mother and son perform on stage together? 🙂

She didn’t sing a lot of her 80s hits but she did sing 2 favorites from the 90s- Like a Prayer being one of them. I wish though that she had sung Rain. That would’ve been the icing on my birthday cake 😀 When she said her goodbye, we initially waited for her encore (which is usually the case), but nope, that was it, according to our Italian friends 🙂 Didn’t get to hear other Madonna pop faves but we were really all so impressed with the show and still in awe as the logistics people began packing up onstage. Seeing Madonna perform in the flesh and up close has been a dream and am so happy that I got to experience it and share it with good friends from Luisa! This has been an incredible way to celebrate the first few minutes of my birthday, thank you!! 🙂
