I spent my day wandering around the streets of Florence and staying in my room trying to get rest. I did manage to walk around the Duomo earlier 🙂
Still as beautiful as I remembered her from my last visit 🙂
Anyway, I ended up spending a wee bit more time in my hotel room because this lady was really tired from over 17 hours of travel. I ended up missing out on cocktails and the presentation of Jay Ahr (by Paris- based fashion designer Jonathan Riss). Boo!
But hah, I made it to dinner at Trattoria Cammillo. Thank goodness! And who should I be having dinner with, apart from Luisa friends Cami, Silvano? Designer Jonathan Riss (Initials JR– hence his brand, Jay Ahr)! *PJ, Jonathan misses you!*
I was gobsmacked (yes, really) because I was already in Florence and yet I didn’t get to see the presentation earlier *hello it was just a few steps away from my hotel– but I was really THAT tired and had to nap 🙁 I couldn’t open my eyes :(*. So if Jonathan were to quiz me about his presentation, I’d have failed right there and then. *Gulp*
Good thing he didn’t really get upset that I didn’t manage to attend (good thing too the presentation will be available for viewing tomorrow as well :D). But ahhh I was also holding a Jay Ahr ace card here– because I know his bag collection all too well 🙂 I had seen it back at his atelier in Paris and had subsequently written about it last July 2011 (see entry here), as I had marveled at the intricate braiding and weaving of the leather. It was as I recall saying, a few notches above another designer label whose signature is all about woven leather 😀
